Nobody would have guessed there is a unique architecture in between two clothing stores. This place is a hidden gem that is recently opened in the city. It was like finding an oasis in the dessert since my last visit at Kena Kopi,Where I had my first cupping experience. Since then, I have not visited many coffee shops other than the ones I have reviewed. But today, because I was waiting my mom from work, I decided to check out the newly opened coffee shop just in front of her workplace.
My first impression, I was stunned.
Before entering the coffee bar, visitors will be greeted by a joglo, it is a vernacular traditional javanese house. A joglo in the past, is a symbol status. It is a part of the house from the javanese aristrocrats. Even these days, it still carries the similar symbol and significance.
There is also garden surrounding the place that has the "Bali Ubud" vibe. If you have visited "Bali,Ubud", this place feels like one of the garden styled coffee shops in Ubud.
However, the entrance looks like a regular coffee shop. There were graffities and neon lights decorating the wall. So I thought the coffee shop bar will be around the area. It turned out, it was on the pavillion next to the joglo.
Inside this coffee shop called "Dasarasa" there is an open garden, stolls and tables with decent amount of power socket. The open garden magnifies the tranquility of the place. And the hanging lights complemented the antiqueness of this place. Despite surrounded by decorative plants and shrubs, the place was not dark. So, this place is perfect if you want to get something done either in the afternoon or the evening.
Among many others coffee shops I have visited, this place replaced my #1 unique coffee shop attributed to Classic.Co The Cafe For an Old Soul. Dasarasa has its own charm. Drinking coffee in this place feels like drinking coffee in an aristrocrat houses back in the 20's. And I replace the uniqueness because not many coffee shop is designing their place using traditional indonesian house.
These days, coffee shops are not only competing in their coffee and service but they also compete in the architecture & design. The place helps building the atmosphere while customer enjoy a cup of coffee. The place also attracts customers especially these days where people want to show off their life. Coffee shops these days are more than just a place to enjoy a cup of coffee.
The coffee options in this place varies. As usual, if I spotted a macchiato, I am ordering that one. This was not an original caramel macchiato because the staff told me they stopped selling the variant. As according to their market research, this is the least coffee that the customer order as it is more bitter. Their coffee is also extra, they decorate it well and even include a coffee bean as the garnish.
I feel sorry for people that have a bad taste.Anyway, in this place, I also tried their potato doughnut. It was worth every penny! for 2 of this, they sell it for 12k or equaivalent to 0.80$.
This is probably one of the most luxurious place I have been that has reasonable price. When I first entered the place, I thought it was going to cost me 7$/ 2 person just like how I normally spend when dining out with my mom.
Another thing that capture my attention is their tip jar that says " help us change citizenship". I find this funny and that's not impossible. Investing in the tip jar to bitcoin would do that. I think at this rate, it takes about 1 or 2 btc for a single person to change their citizenship.
