It feels exciting. It feels like the spirit of Ethiopia was with me when purchasing this coffee, and I received even more gifts from Ethiopia… maybe Ethiopia is waiting for me? Maybe I have to go there and have a nice trip… maybe…
And it’s really nice when you cannot apply your 10% discount code for one of the purchase and Dabov workers decide to send you some more coffee like Peru Geisha COE coffee.
Two geisha coffees and two other Ethiopia single origin coffees. Sounds really fruity and delightful and I really couldn’t stand buying this new Ethiopia by Dabov coffee. It promises tastes like orange, forest fruits and brown sugar. I don’t know what exactly makes this a coffee “by” Dabov, but maybe he reached some farmers directly in Ethiopia and he chose a special single origin coffee to import in Bulgaria. Maybe, but I really don’t know for sure.
The beans are medium-light roasted and smell brilliant straight from the bag. I like taking photos of whole beans… they have so much more… character?!?… than the already ground coffee. Every single bean is unique, yet similar to its neighbor.
And after they pass through the grinder, they become pretty much all the same. But! Much more intense in their aroma. That’s the most pleasurable moment for me before reaching the point where the first sip comes into my mouth.
Infusing the ground beans with hot water and now we wait… and wait…
fictional part begins…
-Why don’t we go and try the new Café in downtown? It looks very neat and welcoming.
It seemed that our coffee didn’t like the idea at all. It formed this strange face and it was as if the coffee would start screaming with real voice.
Traitors, traitors!
But we left. The desire of trying the new place was unstoppable. I and my wife were having time just for the two of us, because the kids were at their grandparents. We remembered the moments when we were younger and had these romantic dates out in the cafes in Sofia. Costa and Starbucks bring such warm memories especially in colder days like these. Halloween aromas and flavors come to mind.
You really would catch our excitement of going to this new place! It was luckily very close to our home - like 10 minutes away so we were there in no time. The setting was very warm and friendly. Outside in the garden there were colorful plants and trees everywhere while on the inside the light was dimmer with spot lights above every table. It felt that this was our preferred space. The cozy sofas made a very good compliment to the whole place. Additionally, there were these pillows with different sizes and shapes that could be arranged just in case you don’t feel perfect yet. And it was this sweety scent from the kitchenette. Halloween smells so special!
All the different drinks and desserts in the menu looked very charming and tasty. The owners really know how to treat their customers and make them really ready to enjoy everything. I decided to go for an espresso while my wife ordered an autumn flavored cappuccino!
The waiter come very fast with our orders and then I saw these “Kimbo” coffee cups. Well, although I don’t like this brand maybe I can give it a try? Well, the flavor was really similar to burning rubber and something very heavily over baked. Maybe charcoal-ish flavor… Eh!
This really marked the end of good feelings about the place… let’s go back home and hopefully our coffee will wait for us there!
back to reality…
Our coffee seemed calmer now… we were back home and were waiting to enjoy this new Ethiopia coffee. It really hosts quite light and delightful aromas. The citrusy notes become very well combined with sweeter finish of brown sugar.
And I think our home decorations bring some very nice vibes and make the coffee taste even more flavorful and a bit “autumn” too!
What are really the advantages of a nice coffee place? They can really build some cozy and warm environment which will be perfect place for a couple to enjoy themselves. They also can enjoy really tasty drinks that sometimes cannot be prepared at home. Also, they can offer some brilliant pastry and treats for your belly!
BUT
They can still use some unpleasant coffee beans, which will be most likely very dark roasted and very bitter. I have experienced this a couple of times. Although place is great and makes you really want to go inside, the coffee eventually ruins your experience. This is not the perfect scenario for a date, right? I mean… if you have already visited the place and you like it, go for it.
Coffee at home will always gonna be trusted and pleasure giving.
See you soon and have a nice weekend!
Bye!
