The first time I went to Caffé Piú I asked if they sold beers, ignorance is daring, but at the same time naive; so that day I left because it was another drink I wanted to taste. But the most curious thing is that I have been passing in front of that café for years, of course, not as many as it has, 21 years in Colinas de Bello Monte, Caracas, Venezuela, attended by its owner Gian Franco Misciagna, and of course it caught my attention, because it looks very nice, but I had never stopped.
After publishing in Hive my visit to the bookstore Re-Cuentos, where I showed a variety of nostalgic originalities, I was recommended to visit two places: a bookstore in the Terminal de Maracay (I have not visited it yet @encuentro) and the Caffé Piú, because both share that passion for reliving the good moments of the past and keeping them in the eternal present.
So I went and on the menu I found 29 varieties of coffee, ranging from traditional to sweet, citrus and spicy. One with ginger, another with pistachio cream, another with turmeric and another with red pepper caught my attention.
We decided on Adventure and Zenzero, because I didn't go alone, and the place is really to be enjoyed in good company. The tables are to die for and the yellow sofa is spectacular. I didn't take pictures of the furniture because the place was full, people in peace and I didn't want to disturb.
Adventure Coffee
Espresso, milk, nutella, condensed milk and grapefruit zest. $5.50 (G)
Delicious! although too sweet for my taste; however the grapefruit was the best part, not to mention that I took the topping so as not to leave any trace of nutella in the glass. By the way, this coffee is served in a glass cup, so I drank it very quickly, since I don't like cold coffee, unless it's cold, and it wasn't the case, but the glass thing is so you can appreciate the layers of each of the ingredients.
Zenzero Coffee
Espresso, milk, ginger and citrus zest $3 (P) - $4 (G).
Fascinating! the ginger does its job, not overwhelmed by any ingredient. I love this coffee.
The best sellers are DaPiu (Espresso, milk, condensed milk, cocoa and cinnamon); Bari (Espresso, milk and grapefruit zest) and Da
Vinci (double espresso, milk, pistachio cream and dark chocolate zest).
Caffé Piú's coffee has its preferred origin in Santa Cruz de Mora, in the state of Mérida, Venezuela, at 1800 meters above sea level, and its selection is Cataí Rojo washed and then roasted medium-high. They have their own coffee for sale ground and in beans.
Since 2021 they offer pizzas at Pizza Piú, it is in the same place and they look great; so that will be my next visit.
See you next time!
