Yesterday, my son @opyavi and I went to Chinatown, located in Palermo, Buenos Aires. We decided to walk a bit, to have a drink, in the new spaces that are parallel to the traditional commercial sector. There we found a variety of fast food places and restaurants, of diverse gastronomy, as well as stores with household items, clothing, and costume jewelry in general.
As we were walking along, I noticed a banner that said "Gota, Specialty Coffee". So I stopped there. To my surprise, I noticed that they serve coffee in cups that are edible. That is, you drink a coffee in the flavor of your choice and they serve it in a little cup, made with cookies.
I ordered a "Classic latte", and Jorge ordered one from the "Bold" line, as it says on the menu, "Affogato". When they served them, I thought he had to drink it fast because otherwise the cookie would melt. As for the hot coffee with ice cream, I also thought the cookie would fluff up, but it did not. What did melt was the ice cream, but when it mixed with the coffee it took on an extraordinary flavor.
The consistency of the cookie exceeded my expectations. The coffee cups had been coated on the inside with dark chocolate. So we were able to drink those coffees with all our calm, to be able to feel the flavor combinations.
Anyway, I loved these innovative and delicious coffees. In addition, I certify that the latte I had was delicious and creamy. The iced coffee also had that creamy consistency, which, combined with the drop of hot express , its flavors exploded on the palate.
On the other hand, I loved the decoration and the giant drop. It is made with a shiny blue material that resembles a drop of water, it shines to the eye and contrasts with the sun, or the lights of the night.
It is a caf茅 that I dare to recommend blindly. The only detail that this beautiful place lacks is a place to sit. Of course, the idea is that you buy and continue strolling with your cookie coffee in hand.
I would like to point out that apart from what this franchise offers, they also sell caps, badges, T-shirts and glasses with the logo of the drop. I was really delighted with the drop. The service provided by the staff was first class.
If I were to return to Chinatown, I would stop by again for my coffee on a cookie. I highly recommend it. I hope you liked this walk and what we discovered in this place, called "La Gota".
I can't say goodbye, without first saying hello to
