Certainly when we find something we really like in a particular coffee shop, we come back again and again to satisfy that preference, that is my case with the Vicky coffee shop.
This cafeteria offers spectacular sweets, it is located in a very popular corner Infanta and San Lazaro in Vedado, just blocks away from the University of Havana on San Lazaro street and blocks away from the famous Havana Malecon and the popular 23rd street on Infanta.
I explained the location because it is very easy to access this place and when I pass by there I can't resist the desire to enter and then I debate between which sweet to choose because I like several, although generally among all I choose many times the Flan de leche and other times a piece of any of their cakes.
My country is going through a strong economic crisis, all sectors are affected and the service sector does not escape this crisis, there is a lack of raw materials to produce quality products, however this cafeteria has managed to maintain its quality standards, the population comments that the owners are important people and some names are handled that I will not mention, but I share this opinion.
This coffee shop specializes in a wide variety of cakes, these are soft, fluffy and moist, they have a pleasant and balanced flavor, without being too sweet or salty. Additional flavors such as vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate, lemon or fruit should be evident but not overwhelming.
On the other hand, the Flan de leche is creamy, soft and sweet, has a pleasant milk flavor, looks firm, without cracks and is decorated with caramel in a very appetizing way, this sweet is also very requested by diners.
Finally, I can't stop talking about the croquettes they offer, they are really made with the exact ingredients and measures, which give them a very special flavor.
I will confess a secret, when I go with my niece we always order those croquettes and Flan, we agree to select the flavor of a piece of cake that we share between the two, not to overload our body with sugar, for this issue of being disciplined and comply with medical requirements, and to my years I should not abuse, but I can not resist to savor at least a bite of these appetizing delicacies.
The drink par excellence that I choose to accompany my selection, can be none other than a latte that I always order with vanilla flavor, my sister prefers chocolate and my niece is faithful to lemonade frappe.
