Hahaha, I must say I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this prompt because when you live in a country where electricity is barely constant, you find a way to adapt and look for other alternatives to prepare your meal.
Some of the gadgets that make things easier and faster indeed require electricity but for one reason or another I find myself ;
In a dystopian future, electricity has been made illegal. How do you prepare and enjoy your coffee in this changed world?
Well for starters, there are lot of ways I can get my everyday coffee. I could grind my coffee beans using a mini mortar and pestle or even a grinding stone. Though i haven't used it before so I can't really say how the outcome would look like but I think it would be a way of getting creative and if it turns out not to give me what I want, I would make more instant coffee as it won't take long before I get my daily coffee fix.
So either grinding my coffee beans or using an instant coffee, I would use the following methods in preparing my coffee;
THE USE OF COOKING GAS
This is considered to be a fast way of making my coffee, all I need to do is fill up my gas and boil my hot water using a kettle, then pour my coffee in my cup and pour the hot water over it, then voila! My coffee is ready for consumption.
USING A CHARCOAL POT
Another thing I have at home that I always use in case of emergency is the charcoal pot. I have had some times when there is no electricity and my cooking gas gets exhausted simultaneously, my other resort is to turn to the use of this charcoalpot and it has saved me countless numbers of times. The little thing I would see as a disadvantage is that unlike the cooking gas which I can use inside the house because it's in my kitchen, for the charcoal pot I would have to prepare it outside which means I can't just wake up craving a cup of coffee by midnight and make use of this(for security reasons) but that is where my thermos flask comes to play.
I could heat up enough hot water and pour it into my thermos flask, then when I wake up craving for some coffee, I would have everything I needed right there in the comfort of my room 😋😋😋😋.
MAKING USE OF FIREWOOD.
To be honest, I barely use this because I have other alternatives but if one of my alternatives which is electricity becomes illegal for some reason, I could also turn to using firewood in making my coffee.
The easiest way to achieve this is to put up three large stones adjacent to one another, put in dry sticks and light it up! It won't take long to get everything I need to make my coffee.
The reason why I barely use this method for cooking is a bit similar to that of the charcoalpot which means I have to prepare it outside and also sometimes if the sticks are not very dry it could bring out smoke and I don't like that because too much of smoke might affect someone's health, but anything for coffee right? 😃😃😃😃
So these are other alternatives I could use in making sure I always have my everyday cup of coffee.
