Disaster Strikes!
Recently we didn’t just break one coffee maker oh no we had to go Kapooey! The first was our vacuum filter glass coffee maker which broke when the boat was violently rocking in high winds. Then a matter of days later the moka pot exploded covering me and the interior of the boat in coffee…. Not the redecoration I was aiming for. Luckily aour friend @diveratt came to the rescue and brought us a french press up to use.
Huge sigh of relief 😮💨
But then I managed to go into nincompoop mode and buy coffee beans by mistake and not grounds!
Ughhhhhhhhh no no no no no!
We were almost out of coffee and having no grinder and being in the middle of nowhere I needed to improvise, and improvise fast as I want my fix
And I want my fix now!
So I set about slowly and steadily crushing the beans with the flat of the blade of a heavy knife. over and over again, add more beans, crush crush crush.
The smell was quite lovely so I carried on
Crush crush crush.
Note to self ‘ buy a grinder mate!’
Ok once crushed down to an acceptable level, a little course but acceptable I plonked some in the french press and let it brew a while as I wondered if it would be ok….
Ahhhh delicious, nectar of the gods.
Disaster averted!
Now to do the rest of it as I’m gonna need more rocket fuel to get through the day for sure!
