And of course, I have lots of time these days. By the way, it's Ange here again.
I am looking forward for Sheree's stories someday hahaha.
She hasn't been posting in a while, so I'll do the posting for now. š

Here's why you might soon make Bubu Bars your regular stop. āš¦
Story Time ā¼ļø

So, Sheree and I were able to get off work early. I was the one who got out from work first, so I just waited for Sheree to finish her work. And since it's also payday, itās another day of trying a new coffee flavor from a new coffee shop we discovered.
Sometimes, when we donāt feel like going too far, we just visit the usual coffee shops we go to. Of course, as coffee lovers, we always want to discover new coffee blends. We're not really a fan of Starbucks, so we prefer local coffee shops.
To cut the story short, our cravings have been a bit unusual lately. Sheree has been craving sweets, like ice cream, and she wanted something cold. Meanwhile, I was craving for affogato or coffee float. So, we decided to look for a coffee shop that had both of our cravings.
While we were browsing, we remembered a place where we bought coffee during the BGC Coffee Fest. At that time, there was only one place where we got coffee, and that shop was Bubu. At first, I thought their coffee shop was inspired by Labubu dolls, hahaha. But it turns out, itās not. Their approach is something else.

So, we went straight to Bubu Bar's shop after work. When we got there, this is what we saw... At first, we were trying to figure out how to get inside the shop, hahaha. Because we couldnāt find a door. š

First, I went to the window that had "Pick-A-Bu" written on it, since there was a glass door on the side. But then we thought it might be closed, so we didnāt enter there. We stood outside for about 5 minutes and still had no idea how to get in, hahaha. š

Then, we watched TikTok reviews and saw that the fridge with the displayed ice cream bars was actually the door. šš¤£ That was when we had the realization that next time, we should watch reviews first on TikTok before going to a newly discovered place.
So, when we finally got inside the shop, we were amazed by the simple entrance through the fridge-like door because when you enter, the place just gets even more beautiful. Of course, the first thing that came to mind was that the shop was very aesthetic, and on top of that, the place was very orange-y, hahaha. Everywhere you looked in the shop, there was orange.

Price Check ā

Before we ordered, we checked the menu since it was our first time there. Of course, we needed to see the best sellers and what their coffee looked like on Instagram posts. Sadly, the coffee float we tried during the BGC Coffee Fest wasnāt on the menu because it was limited to the event.
So, I suggested that we just get ice cream and coffee separately since those were the only items on the menu. I ordered a Seasalt Foam Americano for my coffee, while she got a Bubu Spanish Latte. We also ordered ice cream in a cup. Sadly, their vanilla flavor is not available so we ordered one dark chocolate and one strawberry instead.
The ice cream was a bit pricey š„² since a big single scoop was 180 pesos, and a big double scoop was 280 pesos. š« I guess this is what happens when youāre used to Cornetto, hahaha. 𤣠The coffee was also a bit pricey. And as for the coffee, it both costs 220 pesos. So our total bill was exactly 800 pesos.
The Moment of Truth: Our Review š¤
When our order arrived, of course, we took pictures first because I was going to make a blog out of it, hahaha. But we were quick about it since the ice cream might melt right away.
We actually wanted to order some pastries, but we already spent 800 pesos, so we decided to stop there. We didnāt want to regret our expenses, hahaha. Kidding aside, we first tried the ice cream. We tasted both flavors so we could really review the taste.

For the Dark Chocolate, it was okay. It wasnāt too bitter. But I donāt think it had the typical Dark Chocolate flavor because it was a bit sweet. It felt more like a Double Chocolate. As for the Strawberry, Iām not a fan of it, but it was way too sweet for the kind of Strawberry flavor that you would expect.

I can't say whether itās worth the price because, in the end, it was still good. And I found out why the ice cream is expensiveāitās made with Oat Milk. You can really tell because of the slightly slimy and soft texture of the ice cream.
As for the Bubu Spanish Latte, which is Shereeās coffee, I can't give much of a review since I donāt drink Spanish Lattes. But I liked the strength of the coffee, though it was a bit too sweet. Maybe they added too much condensed milk. But for Sheree, it was okay. I think her rating would be between 7 and 8.
For the Seasalt Foamy Americano, which I ordered, I canāt really explain if it was good or just okay. The taste of their Americano was a bit weird because it had an orange zest flavor. It wasnāt sour, but you could taste the orange peel since they added grated orange skin on top.

I did like the Seasalt Foam though. Itās just that the taste of their Americano was really strange, hahaha. I think I would rate it a 7 too because it didnāt quite satisfy my cravings that day. But maybe some people would like it.
I always say, we all have different taste buds, so what tastes good to one person might not to another. It really depends on you whether youād want to try their coffee and ice cream.
But if you ask us? Yes, itās still worth going back. I just hope that next time we go there, the coffee float we had during the BGC Coffee Fest will be available. Because that was their best seller during the event. Although they do have affogato at their shop, it was a bit too expensive for me since it was over 300 pesos, if Iām not mistaken. So, I guess Iāll try it some other time when we crave Bubu again, hehe.
Final Thoughts: Is it worth to try again?

Bubu Bars shop gave us an unforgettable experience with its unique taste and combination of ice cream and coffee. While there were a few things that didnāt quite match our cravings, we still enjoyed the overall vibe of the place after all.
Whether you're a fan of strong coffees like Americano and Latte, creamy ice cream, or just searching for a chill spot in BGC together with your special someone or friends, then Bubu is definitely worth a visit.
As for us, weāre already planning our next tripāmaybe weāll finally get to try that coffee float next time, or their affogato!
But until then, weāre content with eating ice cream and drinking coffee separately. So, if youāre okay with spending more than 200 pesos on coffee, then Bubu is definitely a must-try.
If you're ever in BGC and you're looking for a new coffee shop to go to, you might want to try Bubu bars shop. Who knows? It might just become your new go-to spot too. šµš
