The rainy season has just started and this really worries me, my coffee crops can be seriously affected by them, although thinking about it this year has been strong summer season, I do not think that the water can be greater effect on my coffee trees, I exclaim "old Junior!"
Junior, a sixty year old man who had dedicated his whole life body and soul to the coffee harvest, for a reason he was the largest producer of this stupendous bean at a national level in the country of Colombia. Every year he produced immense tons of coffee in its different presentations for export to different parts of the world.
But really the economic part was never Junior's priority, he was passionate about his work, in fact he interacted every day with the coffee trees, those who know him say that this was the secret of producing the best coffee of the coffee axis in Colombia.
But the winter came with a lot of epiety and the rains were incessant, every day dawn rained and this began to worry the old Junior his coffee trees were decreasing their production and if we add to this the strong wind currents that ran through the trees causing many of them to drop their fruits, knocking down their leaves and when they were too extensive even the trees were knocked down.
Old Junior, as everyone in the area knew him, went into a state of depression in his years of life he had never been able to experience such an aggressive climate as the one he was observing this season, desperate, he lay down on the ground to cry and claim to life itself why it punished him that way? What had he done to deserve such a punishment?

At that moment one of his oldest ancestors appeared before him, the founder of those coffee lands and told him that what was happening had already been preceded in the beginning of time, "How come I don't understand, says Junior?" the ancestor answered "when he began to harvest coffee he was told not to do it in the coffee axis, since the rivers Campoalegre, Otún and La Vieja flowed around him and they could alter his harvests".
But he did not give great importance to those comments, because those rivers were thousands of kilometers away from where he started his crops, but what they did not expect was that with the passing of the years that area would be populated and with it would delimit the course of the great rivers and that the people who are living there would contaminate the environment with solid and non-solid waste and what was happening now is simple, all this garbage has been fertilizer and sediment to the rivers, so it was predicted that the heavy rains would cause the rivers to overflow and an atrocious flood that would sweep away everything in its path, including our crops.
At that moment old Junior shouted "Noooooo, that can't happen it would be the end of years of work with coffee!"
The ancestor answered him, nature is implacable if you take care of her and preserve her, she can give you the best fruits and the best harvests during long years and in fact even for centuries as has been our case, but she has memory and when during this process the irrational hand of man alters her ecological balance there comes a moment in which she begins to restore the environment and wants to return to the course of her rivers to their original state.
Look out your window as the rain is falling, the old Junior with some fear approached the top of his window and from there he could see how the sky was blackened, the lightning was very recurrent, it looked like a thunderstorm, loaded in turn with so much water that his crops could not be seen because of the heavy rains, This scenario caused a state of shock in the old Junior, who was so shocked seeing how the water from the rains and the rivers were drowning his coffee crops of so many years and at the same time reaching his home, that he did not care that this same water ended up submerging him, ending his life and the entire coffee plantation.
