Well there's no valentine's day without coffee is it! I mean, coffee on dates is just a necessity at this point - even if it is dinner date, especially if it is a dinner date 😉
I had publicly admitted that the latte of "The Courtyard at Park Heights" is the best in town, probably in the country - and I have had a lot of coffee! Last time I was at The Courtyard, I said it to have overtaken Tabaq in my favorites list. So it was only fitting that we'd try their coffee again.
It was the my first Valentine's day out with my wife. I never really "celebrated" valentine's day - it was just another excuse to dress up an go out and end with a dinner date!
The Courtyard still remains one of the nicest places for a date, understandably it was a bit crowded today.
We ordered us a couple of Lattes to start things off as we browsed through the menu for dinner.

This was my cup. In the back you can see my wife ready to violate her own cup of coffee with buttload of brown sugar!
Surprisingly, I was a little disappointed with the latte today! It didn't have that smooth edge that took it above Tabaq's coffee last time. Don't get me wrong, it was still as good as Tabaq's at least and tabaq is one of my most favourite coffee I have tried all over different places around the world - that is saying a lot! But I was still disappointed for two reasons mainly - one, it is quite a bit more expensive than tabaq's, second - I had higher expectations of it because Courtyard set their own standard pretty high!
The ambiance was still top notch. The amber lighting was as beautiful as ever! There was a classy touch of valentine's themes with the flowery decor - not too loud, just subtle enough for the seeking eyes!

There wasn't much to complain about the dinner except that I couldn't remember the names of the dishes - I probably lost a few teeth trying to pronounce them! But jokes aside, fantastic meal! But the coffee community needs to look at the desserts more than the dinner eh!
Again I couldn't remember the names so I'll make up names as we go!

Red velvet cake with strawberry covered in chocolate!
Well, the Red velvet cake was better than good! We both liked it. But the strawberry with chocolate - I mean what the actual fuck was that for!
Sure it doesn't take anything away from the main dish, but the strawberry was sour as hell, and the chocolate felt like cheap thrift store crunchy bite or whatever. When you're charging as much for the dishes, even the unnecessary bits need to be on point. If I had to rate the strawberry chocolate nonsense separately I'd rate it a zero out of ten because, if I rated it even one, I'd have to scratch my head for hours to find out why it deserved that one!
Moving on to the good stuff then!

Molten Lava Chocolate cake with Vanilla Icecream!
This was a star hands down and a perfect end to a pretty delicious dinner! The cake was soft and the chocolate inside was oozing - melts with every bite! The ice cream was decent, what else can I say - it was just vanilla ice cream!
