A Very Unique Christmas
Mariah and Oliver were twins, but with entirely different personalities. Despite being so close, they were like two opposite poles; Mariah was cool, determined, and calculating. Oliver was fearful, introverted, and worried, despite being so different they always had each other.
They did not celebrate Christmas like the rest of the people, instead, they got together to perform seances for these dates, because they believed that the winter solstice had immense power over this time of year and that it influenced the opening of portals. towards other worlds.
Although Oliver was always afraid, he knew that her presence was essential to Mariah, because if one of them was missing, the ritual could not be performed. When they both reached twenty-three years of age, they discovered that there was a way to increase the process and that was through the use of coffee.
Whether in grain, ground, or drink, coffee turned out to be quite effective catalyst to maintain the portals for much longer, in addition to being the favorite drink of both strange brothers, but the spirits ignored their requests and did not want to. physically manifest in their sessions; all they did was blow out some candles and make small noises.
One year later; On December 24, they tried again, but this time, they decided to go for something bigger and more dangerous; they decided to summon Krampus.
The Krampus was known for taking and eating children without Christmas spirit, a creature that would please Mariah, but fearsome to Oliver. The boy was not very confident that they could summon the Krampus, but Mariah had faith in this summoning ritual, besides that she had in her hands a delicious coffee imported from Colombia to make the moment more delicious. Both brothers looked into each other's eyes and began to execute their plan.
"Sister, are you sure you want to do this?" Oliver said shakily, then took a sip from his coffee cup and swallowed fearfully.
“Don't start,” Mariah replied. "This should work. Krampus is a more determined entity than those cowardly spirits we've been calling, I think we'll get along just fine."
Suddenly, a choir of Christmas carols began to sing in front of the twins' house. Oliver's face was painted with fear as he caught a glimpse of his sister sighing with rage.
"Mariah, calm down, they'll be gone soon..." Oliver asserted and then took another sip of coffee to ease the anxiety.
“No, they will not go quickly and we must start now. They have to go now!" Mariah filled a bucket with water and poured it over the carol choir. They all left insulting and making rude gestures against Mariah, she just smiled and returned with her brother.
“Okay, now we can start. We must hurry before the time passes.” Mariah asserted as Oliver inhaled his asthma inhaler. "Let's finish what's left of the coffee in our cups."
As they did so, a dark pit-like hole appeared in the ground almost next to them. Oliver jumped in fright, while Mariah went completely limp. They observed as the creature they had summoned slowly appeared from the portal.
"Krampus!" Oliver yelled and moved behind his sister. The Krampus was left sitting on the ground while he glimpsed the place.
"Dammit!" Claim. “Who the hell woke me up? I'm not supposed to be around on these specific dates."
“It was us,” Mariah said, her voice firm and determined, as Oliver trailed behind her, trembling.
"You…? Ah yes, the twins who don't celebrate Christmas, and instead have séances.” The Krampus stared at them, stroked his thick black beard, and smiled.
“Well, I don't usually take adults, but you guys are a special case. They will come with me and don't make me angry, I don't want to use the… Wait…! Is that Colombian coffee?" He pointed at the end of Krampus with great interest.
"Uh... yes..." Oliver replied scared.
"Oh, I love it! It's my favorite drink in hell."
“Do you want me to pour you a cup?” Mariah asked raising an eyebrow because she didn't expect that reaction from the Krampus.
"Of course! I would never deny myself a good coffee.”
Mariah hurried to pour the Krampus a cup, then her brother and herself. They sat at the table and began to chat, they shared desserts to accompany the delicious coffee, and they told some jokes and laughed; Oliver was still afraid of the disturbing laugh of the Krampus. They took some selfies to remember that special moment, it was the first time the twins celebrated Christmas or something like that.
