My pending university assignments have piled up, largely because I've been busy with other things and because of my habit of putting them off, telling myself, “I'll do them later.” With the daily hustle and bustle, I only manage to get some of them done, without finishing them completely. But time doesn't stop, so I've decided to take today to catch up. While it's a responsibility, it's also a relief for my other daily tasks.
No way! I'm in the home stretch and I can't stop. I have several jobs pending and I'm only a month away from finishing. Knowing my schedule, I've decided to devote this morning to getting as much done as I can, so I can finish some of them completely and start on others. These days will be intense because I have to deliver this first batch on Friday.
To make the most of my time, I start with my morning ritual: clearing the room of any distractions. I heat up some water for my shower, as it's been a bit cold these days. And to create the most relaxing atmosphere possible, I turn on my coffee maker so that the aroma fills my entire office; it's true aromatherapy.
For many years, coffee has been an ally for students, especially when it comes to sleep. It's not about not sleeping, but about starting the day after resting, with your senses fully activated, so that you can focus on your studies. That's why, for me, as I am easily distracted, I make sure my environment is calm, with no televisions on and even no music, because I get distracted quickly. I like listening to music, yes, but not when I'm writing; I prefer to do so when I'm organizing the text or uploading some photos.
On this occasion, I still had a little bit of the coffee I had bought left: that half kilo of Don Emilio coffee. I made a pot for six cups, which is the amount I usually prepare so I don't have to keep making it all the time. Since my apartment is closed, the aroma permeates the whole place.
My priorities for today Among the tasks pending this week, my priorities are two essays: one on literacy and the other on neurolinguistics. I have to print them out and hand them in physically. In addition, I have to do a bibliographic review of the literacy subject. After that, I'll dive into the deep end with seminar topic 3. In this subject, I am already beginning to develop the historical background of my research work, and that will take me a long time and must be ready by Friday.
So, little by little and one by one, I must complete this commitment. Today, I aim to finish the first assignments and then fulfill my daily responsibilities. Tomorrow, God willing, I will focus on the next activity, as they are all very important.
I have barely started and I have already enjoyed several cups of coffee. I am serving them in small cups so they don't get cold, and in a way, this allows me to disconnect for a few seconds and stretch my legs so I can continue studying. Today we will finish what we have planned and tomorrow we will continue. Today I will restock my coffee; let's see what new brand I find. I will keep you posted!
