Happy Sunday to you all and happy new week, today is second Sunday in ordinary time year A
The theme of the gospel is the vocation of Christian,In the second reading Paul tells us that every Christian is “called” and has a vocation. The gospel tells us that our vocation continues the vocation of Jesus, whom the Baptist calls the “Lamb of God,” that is, the one who sacrifices himself so that others may have life. The first reading shows how in the Old Testament God chose for his mission of salvation a servant who sought neither glory nor power.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM Ps 40:2 and 4ab.7-5a. 8b-9. 10 (R. 8a. 9a)which says See, I have come, Lord, to do your will.
The gospel reading:
A reading from the holy Gospel according to John (John 1:29-34)
At that time: John saw Jesus coming towards him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks before me, for he was before me.’ I myself did not know him; but for this I came baptising with water, that he might be revealed to Israel.” And John bore witness, “I saw the Spirit descend as a dove from heaven and remain on him. I myself did not know him; but he who sent me to baptise with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptises with the Holy Spirit.’ And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.”
The Gospel of the Lord.
REFLECTION:
The priest encourage us today at mass that we should make a new year resolution because there is a purpose while God bring us to 2023 we should try and answer God call by doing the will of God in this 2023.
My own new year resolution is to serve God more better than last year and i pray God will grant us the grace to know the will of our Father in heaven.
Happy Sunday to you all and have a blessed week ahead.
