Here are a few scenes from a Japanese garden for this #sublimesunday
The first sight was a slightly damp chimpunk doing his best to freeze and not be noticed. Fortunately this gave me a great opportunity for a shot.
I love these curved bridges with koi swimming underneath. Perhaps they'll paint it red eventually?
Lots of little lantern statues are located throughout this garden.
I'm sure a donor commissioned these trumpet playing angels, not very Japanese but I'm sure it helped for fundraising or something of that nature.
Here is a decorative boat on a little lake in the middle of the garden.
Quite a few man-made waterfalls were located throughout the gardens. Perfect for ducks and other critters to swim or drink.
Turtles were abundant here too. This guy was huge.
I thought it was a red eared slider but it must be something different as its way too big.
Later on this actual red eared slider swam up to my daughter hoping to fed some koi food. Sadly we didn't have any.
I also saw some baby catfish swarming around their mother who was directly beneath them.
There were a few different swarms around the lake. I was tempted to reach in and grab up a handfull of them.
Hidden around the garden were a few traditional tea houses.
You could only look inside, maybe for special events they actually open them up. I'm sure the chipmunk could easily sneak in here and setup a nest.
Here's a fun fountain made out of bamboo and a carved rock. They had cups nearby where you could collect the water for a drink.
Now for a large man-made waterfall next to a natural river that runs through the whole garden. I suspect they pump water out of the river up here then let it fall off these rocks where it flows back into the river.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
