It is a cold and rainy Sunday morning. I decided to look through some of my photos from this summer. I came across a few squirrel photos that were comical to me.
I captured this guy lying across a large pine cone atop my fire pit woodpile. I think he was making sure another squirrel wouldn't steal the cone. He lay there on the woodpile for quite some time sunning himself.
This guy was a nuisance all summer long once he figured out how to hop onto the birdfeeder. We hung it from a large branch on the Maple tree hoping he would not be able to reach it, but alas, he still managed to leap onto it to forage for the sunflower seeds.
This squirrel is hanging on the lowest branches of the tree and is eating the Maple seed pods. I took a few photos while he was dining.
Here he is hanging upside down to reach the lowest seeds.
He finally moved onto a branch where I got a good photo of him. He certainly maintains a good balance with that long fluffy tale.
Two very friendly squirrels are waiting for me to offer them a snack. They come right up to me when they see me even when I haven't given them anything by hand in a long time. Mika, my dog chases them now and she almost caught one. So now they get their snacks thrown to them on the other side of the fence.
This wraps up this post for today as I have to get to the kitchen and start making holiday cookies.
All images are taken by myself with a Pentax 300mm lens and iPhone 16 pro.
