Greetings dear friends, welcome to my blog. Once again I am participating in the PhotoFeed Contest, macro photography. This time I didn't photograph insects either, but I did photograph flowers. One of the most striking parts of a flower is the pistils. They are located in the center of the flower and vary depending on the type of flower. Pistils play an important role in plant reproduction; they are where seeds and fruits are produced.
This flower is called Cosmos and is also known as Mirasol, it has very abundant pistils that make it look beautiful.
Unlike Cosmos, the Desert Rose has very fine, long, and not abundant flowers. In addition, they are covered with many hairs.
These pistils are very different from those of Turnera subulata. At the time of the photo, a couple of ants were passing by.
Several Coquetas plants, also known as Rosa Mystica or Paper Flower, although their scientific name is Zinnia Elegans, have grown at home. Their pistils change rapidly as the flower develops. They are dense at first, as if made up of many petals, then small yellow flowers appear around the flower disc.
As the flower dries, the pistils shrink, but that's not the end of the flower. The seeds are there, and when they return to the earth, they will germinate and give new life. Even when they're dry, they still look beautiful.
Finally, I've included in this gallery the tiny flowers of the Tua Tua, a plant with many medicinal properties that I'm privileged to have at home. These tiny flowers are so small they almost go unnoticed, but one day I stopped to look at them and was amazed to see their beauty thanks to my camera lens.
This has been my participation in the PhotoFeed Contest Round 128
