The last few days I've been spending a lot of time in the park, and I don't think anyone can blame me for it, actually all the blame is on the horrible weather and the heat wave we are under at the moment, I've even had to change my habits getting up earlier every day so I can work in front of the PC when the temperature is still cool, then during the day I stay inside the coolest room in the house and try to go out as little as possible, although when I get bored of watching TV I end up going to the park where I take pictures and rest under the shade of the trees, unless I feel like walking to look for more landscapes and then yes, I end up tired, sweaty and full of dust from the place.
So the other day I went to the park again, it was Saturday afternoon, I had gone to deliver some pots of my succulents that were bought to me, and from there I went to the park, by the time I arrived it was getting dark and I managed to take a couple of pictures that I showed in my previous post, but the clouds came covering what was still left of light, so to take these pictures I let the ISO up as much as needed and the result I must say I like it, let's start with this picture of which I'm thinking of making an edition for NTF and call it "Family Moments" or something like that, I think it represents exactly the concept, do you feel it?
Being honest I had previously taken pictures in this place, and on Saturday I made a terrible mistake before taking the above picture, because the ISO was lower and I was shooting with aperture priority, the shutter speed was slow, getting the following picture, and I show it because I think it is necessary to stop being afraid of ISO noise, it is better a noisy picture than a shaky picture.
But as I say, there are times when I like to walk around the park looking for places that could be interesting and most of the time I only carry one lens on my camera, as I said it is very windy and dusty, so I try to avoid changing lenses outdoors, and instead I take some pictures with my cell phone to see them from another focal length, the following picture I think it can become something good although I still need to work on several things like timing, composition and the lens I will use for the picture I am looking for.
And here is the proof, I leave you the picture I took in this place with my cell phone, so I already have an idea of what lens I should bring the next time I take pictures in this place.
I still need to find a good composition for this site, the truth is that for some strange reason I feel attracted to this place, and I don't think I can stop taking pictures here until I'm satisfied, I'm even thinking of going into the water a couple of meters just to find the composition I'm looking for, I think I'm getting desperate.
As in the previous photograph I felt that the tree needed more breathing space at the top, I had to repeat the photograph and focus manually because the camera was having trouble finding the right focus.
Now, another place that I'm liking and as this day I only had the 50mm lens I think I had to walk a few meters back to be able to include more of the scene in the composition, here I shot with an aperture of F2.5 and ISO 1000 to get a more or less correct exposure and I think this image is a good example to test the Lightroom feature that has been talked about so much, the noise removal.
And now the corrected photo, I don't know what the hell Lightroom does but it definitely does a good job, I hope you can appreciate it.
And now the picture taken with the cell phone, as you can see I need to take the picture with a wide angle lens, so next time I will try to take the kit lens of my Canon M50, the 15-45mm, which shooting at the focal length of 15mm would be 15*1.6 = 24mm for a FF camera, not ultra wide angle but still wide angle and definitely the result should be better than the one I got with the lens of this time.
The final image, in it you can see that even the light of the lamps was already on so it was already quite dark and I was still taking pictures without using the tripod, I like that challenge of taking the pictures handheld, and with this I end today's post, thanks for watching the pictures and see you in the next one.
