I can never love a greedy person, thus I have a hard time liking them.
Greed is a strong desire for more things, such as money, power, and material possessions.
It is a strong emotion that has the potential to cause harmful behaviour and bad outcomes for both the individual and others.
Being a person who values others, I have a hard time disliking anyone. I am forgiving and don't harbour grudges. Even if you behave badly, I can still put up with you and will be urging you to change your behaviour.
However, other aspects in some people's life disgust me, such as stealing, backbiting, envy, and selfishness.
Greed is what I find to be the most disgusting
Why I Dislike Greedy Individuals
I dislike greed because it produces so many negative attitudes. I will go over some characteristics of a greedy person below.
Selfishness: They are self-centred, they are only concerned about themselves alone. They won't agree to any policy that won't favour them, even though the policy will be the best option that will favour a lot of people.
Illegal Behaviour: To acquire more power or property, greedy people indulge in illegal deals.
This will also affect society. Take, for instance, some set of individuals who were burnt to death in Delta state ( Nigeria) early last year.
They went to the burst crude oil pipeline, but something went wrong, and they all perished from burn injuries.
The community was also affected. These are the kinds of people who sell bad fuels, and many people's cars have been damaged by fuels that were not of the highest quality.
Lack Of Compassion: They cause pain to others, without thinking about the repercussion. Imagine a friend killing his best friend for a money ritual. This is a result of greed.
They lack empathy for others, and this kind of behaviour makes me run away from greedy individuals. You can be a victim of their evil act if you choose them as friends.
Unsatisfaction: Greedy people view the world as a constant thing, they never get satisfied with what they have. Consider someone who owns four or more exotic cars. If he sees another gorgeous car passing, he could instantly fall in love with the car.
He might buy the car later and probably won't use it much. This is a sign of greed.
I once worked for a boss who would get jealous whenever someone talk about how much money they were generating from their business. Without doing a comprehensive inquiry into the business and how long the owner has been in the industry, he would be interested in the business.
He consistently runs multiple firms, and at the end of each year, most of the businesses were not successful. Later, he went bankrupt and fled the state. I hope he has realized that greed is bad behaviour and has learned his lesson.
Money Addiction: A greedy person will frequently search for money and will be concerned with money issues. As long as they believe that money is the only thing that matters in life, they won't give a damn about anything else.
They constantly bring up money, and they have a hard time empathizing with a poor person.
When you only talk about money and don't value anything else outside it, I will have to say goodbye because this kind of behaviour is not attractive to me.
In conclusion, a greedy person is always desperate to have money, if you move closer to this kind of person. They can implicate you with their bad attitude.
Some other attributes of greedy individuals involve fraud, theft, and embezzlement.
Several of our politicians would embezzle millions of dollars intended for public finances, travelling abroad to save the money in foreign banks.
Some individuals will even bury their money inside cemeteries, while others will store it in warehouses where it will later become damaged.
These funds are intended to support national development.
We should avoid greedy people since they are really harmful.
