Hey, can I borrow your phone for one day? It's just a day, I will toss it back. Certainly you wouldn't allow that, will you?
I trust you can borrow me any other thing but not that phone. 😅. Come, I can even borrow you my charger, my powerbank but my phone without my caring hands in one day? No way!
Hello everyone, how was your day?Nice to have you on my blog today again,it's wonderful having you.
Today, let's talk about our phones.
It's a task from Hivelearners 😃
Back in the day, before smartphones were a thing, life was simpler. We got by just fine. But these days, friends stay glued to their gadgets. It's like they can't breathe without them. I inclusive 😅
So, the other day, my friend decided to go on a little trip, and she had a wild idea – unfortunately, she didn't tell anyone about it. She was going to ditch her phone. No social media, no distractions, just her and the world. That's an adventure if you ask me, haha.
Who hasn't daydreamed about going off the grid for a while, ditching your phone screen for some peace and quiet? It's like a mini-vacation from the digital jungle. But let me keep that as a day dream please. 😅
Well, in just two days, things got of hand. Her family and friends, even her church friends, started to worry. Her sister gave me a call, all worried, saying she hadn't heard from her in 48 hours. Her friend was on my case too. It was no joke. My husband and the church crew even had a plan to file a missing persons report if they didn't hear from her by 10 am that day. Panic mode, activated!
I mean, it was only two days, right? Why couldn't she give a quick call to say she'd arrived safe? Did she lose her phone and bag? Couldn't she borrow someone else's phone? Did no one at her destination know she was gonna show up?
It's crazy how we can go from chill to full-on search party mode in just a couple of days. Phones have turned us into mini-detectives.
We were all playing detective in our heads. And thank goodness, she showed up eventually. But her excuse was hilarious. Her phone just went kaput, and she couldn't even get to her SIM card. 😄
This story also brings back memories of that time when my phone got seized during an exam.Teachers and their phone rules during exams – they can be real sticklers. But then, sometimes life throws curveballs, and they got to roll with it.
I was using it to keep tabs on my ailing Dad's health, even during the test. When the call came about his passing, the professor finally noticed.
He took my phone away for four whole days, thinking I was hiding cheat sheets in there. O boy, those were the longest four days of my life. I tried to get my husband to help me, but he said I'd been warned and didn't listen.
Finally, the phone came back, and the professor had to apologize. Turned out I was telling the truth about my dad.
My phone – it's like my right hand. I'm not addicted, but we are like love birds. It's where I juggle work, family, friends, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
WHAT CAN MAKE ME STAY AWAY
You know what would make me put my phone down?
No battery.
The moment you see that "Low Battery" warning, it's like the universe is conspiring against you.
It's the worst feeling when you've got stuff to do, but that battery's empty. Thank goodness for power banks. They're lifesavers I got myself a super-powerful power bank that charges my phone like three times. I never run out of battery anymore. 😄
HOW ABOUT PRAYER TIME?
And when I'm talking to my father upstairs, no way I'm touching that phone.
Yes, when you're having a heart-to-heart with Dear God, the phone has to stay quiet. It's a one-on-one conversation, and there's no room for distractions
You can't just go texting or scrolling when you're in a chat with the divine.
MOMA'S TIME
Visiting mom in the village is a different ball game as well. She's got her own set of phone rules, and you better believe she's the boss
Truly, when I visit my mom in the village, she's like the phone police – on, off, on, off.
We talk about phone addiction , we're not judging. But for real they've become our lifelines, after all. Thank God for teckinology, hahaha as MoMA would pronounce it. 😅
Thanks to @hivelearners for the awesome prompt. It's been a fun ride participating and reminding us how attached we've become to this little brother. 😄
Your visit and time us highly appreciated. ♥️♥️♥️
Yours,
