Death is inevitable. When a person dies, his relatives need strength and comfort. In Islamic teachings, takziah is an activity to visit friends or family who are grieving because a loved one has died.
However, takziah is not just looking at the person who died. Takziah has various other purposes that are good for the deceased or the bereaved family. Takziah aims to encourage the bereaved family to always be patient. In addition, takziah is also intended to raise and comfort the hearts of those left behind. One of the most important goals of course is to pray and ask forgiveness for the person who died.
Takziah which can be worth sunnah worship clearly has etiquette that need to be considered so that empathy can be conveyed to the bereaved family. That way, those left behind will be more patient with the calamity that is befalling them.
We must be able to distinguish that doing takziah is different from attending a wedding. Therefore, inappropriate things must be thrown away, especially in the way of dressing. That is, dressing and embellishment during takziah does not need to be excessive, it is quite simple, so that in this way it can show an atmosphere of mourning and mourning.
The feeling of deep sadness when the closest person is left is definitely felt by the surviving family members. Showing this grief should be accompanied by expressions of condolences to the bereaved family.
Usually, families who are in a disaster tend to be silent and don't want to talk much because of the sadness they are feeling. Therefore, it is better for people who are takziah to control their speech and try to strengthen them.
Although basically a smile is worship, but if it is in the wrong place, it can be a smile that brings harm. So, when we celebrate it is not recommended to smile too much because it can cause feelings of dislike and disrespect for the family who is being hit by a disaster.
