In the world of growing technology, people are developing new phones and cameras with great picture quality.
Last year, when I was working with my pastor, I learnt a minute photography skill. I love to take photographs, but I noticed that without a good camera, your photography is gonna fade out. I heard my pastor, who is a graphic designer and a photographer, say, "If you want a better photograph, you should consider the choice of phone or camera to use."
He asked about my phone, and I said, "Tecno Camon 16."
He laughed loudly. "I can see why your photographs are bad. Come on, get a better camera to compete with top-notch photographers!"
Once you have a good camera, you’ll find your style and get creative by learning online.
He uses different cameras, ranging from an iPhone camera to a Canon camera. The last time I checked, he even bought a stand.
Moving on, he taught me videography, where he talked about sound quality and video quality.
Well, we spent at least 5–6 months together, and I learnt pretty well.
He was a great mentor and a father figure. Infact I recorded videos to get the best view of his preachings; especially for publications and many more. I can boldly say that he was one of the most influential people in my life.
I search my phone and I can't get the picture of me taking photographs and videos of my pastor using his great camera but...
Rev. Taiwo-Ola taught me how to use Lightroom, CapCut, Canva, and many, many more.
I love the fact that he teaches me to have skills.
Now, I am making tutorial videos using CapCut, and I have grown to love photography. I take photographs no matter what, and I know that one day, I will get a good camera to take beautiful photographs.
This design was a free gift from Rev. Taiwo-ola that I do not take for granted. 💞
Reverend Taiwo-Ola always made mention of lighting in photography. I know that poor lighting causes graininess, nois and blur photographs, especially if the camera compensates with a slow shutter speed.
Oh, to a non-photographer, this image may look good for the night.
But guys — no, no, no. 🙂↔️
This image contains grains, especially when you zoom in. You’ll also notice that some people appear darker in the picture due to low light. And those shadows in the picture — 🤯🤯 — don’t you think they are totally useless? 😞
This is yet another disadvantage of bad lighting.
Though I do not have another picture to compare these images with, however; you can still tell that this image is really bad. Too bad, especially when compared with other higher-quality photos.
A photographic light is the best for photography. Have you ever wondered why some pictures taken under sunlight might not give as much picture quality as those taken with photographic lighting? One of his church members who is into photography always laid emphasis on using photographic lights.
Over the years, I have noticed that good pictures occupies more space because the pixels are much better.
So, here’s my advice for getting a better picture: I know the equipment can be costly, but come on—you can still get the best out of your outdated camera or phone.
One thing you should use is natural light—not searchlights or phone flashlights like in the pictures above. That feelings when you take a photograph and photography lovers tell you that your photograph is blurry. My advice to starters like me who have little to no instrument 😄🤣😂 is
early morning or late afternoon provides soft, warm light that is perfect for a better photograph.
Also, try to avoid backlighting unless you're intentionally going for a silhouette effect. You can use reflectors (even white paper or a wall) to bounce light onto your subject.
I need a better camera 📸 📸 because hive will humble you 😁.
I am not a professional, and right now, I don’t even have a camera. But I do know these tips.
Another helpful trick is adjusting your camera settings. When I was learning photography, though church photography 😄, settings like ISO, aperture, and shutter speed were adjusted in a way that matches/suit the lighting conditions of your immediate environment.
You can also use editing tools like Photoshop, gallery editors, and many more to brighten and enhance photos taken in poor light. Hopefully it doesn't turn blurry. The aftermath of bad photographs even after editing might not be 100 percent appealing.
Some of the apps that I currently use include Lightroom and Snapseed. Lightroom is available for Android user on Google store.
Thanks for visiting! 😊
