Naturally, I'm a very emotional person. I hate to see someone in a bad condition, whenever I can help I usually try my best to do so just to make the person happy.
I made up my mind at a time that whatever amount I can't let go of, I won't give it out as a loan to anyone. This was as a result of my experiences and I have worked with that until this situation I want to talk about.
I have a neighbour who moved in to our compound about three 3 years after us. The lady was a very nice lady and her family was very friendly. The couple had two kids, a boy and a girl.
The husband is a dispatch Rider he works with a company while the lady is a stay-at-home mum trying out different small businesses just to make her own money. At a time she sold perfumes and roll-on, there were also times she sold Jewelry.
Her husband had a terrible accident that year and broke his leg. It was a trying period for them. we all tried our best just to encourage her. He was in the hospital for about a month and there were times when the family had nothing even to feed.
So, on that fateful day, she came to me to ask for a loan but I had nothing that I could give her so, I explained to her that I don't have anything but she should give me some time to speak to someone about it. She thanked me and left.
I called my friend Matilda and told her that I needed to borrow some money from her and she sent the money to me immediately. I gave the money to my neighbour, she was so happy, she thanked me and promised to pay before the end of the month. As a result of her husband's condition she could not pay back on time I had to pay my friend back when I got my salary. I was expecting the money back because I was also in need of money the amount I paid back was more than half of my salary and I had bills to pay.
At the same time I couldn't ask her about the money because of the situation they were in at that time. I really pitied her. I had to look for other means to pay my bills for that month and I forgot about the money.
Soon after that we moved out of the apartment and her parting words for me was that she still had me in mind. I hugged her and told her to take care. I could only imagine what she was going through. Her husband was already using crutches to work.
About two or three months after we moved out of the appointment, I just got an alert of the exact amount I borrowed her. Few minutes later I got a call from her, we exchanged greetings and she told me that she had sent my money, That her husband's company gave them money and paid the husband's salary areas. she was very happy narrating those things to me on phone.
She thanked me so much and prayed for me that I was really emotional. I was very happy for her and I think her as well.
I was glad I could do what I did then just to help her with the money. The truth is that, the money came at the right time when I needed it most.
