🇬🇧 British vs American Spellings 🇺🇸
English is one language with many flavours or should I say flavors? 😄
Here’s a quick guide to help you out:

Colour → Color
Flavour → Flavor
Humour → Humor
Neighbour → Neighbor
Honour → Honor
Armour → Armor
Odour → Odor
Apologise → Apologize
Organise → Organize
Analyse → Analyze
Paralyse → Paralyze
Recognise → Recognize
Travelled → Traveled
Travelling → Traveling
Leukaemia → Leukemia
Manoeuvre → Maneuver
Oestrogen → Estrogen
Paediatric → Pediatric
Analogue → Analog
Catalogue → Catalog
Dialogue → Dialog
✍🏽There are rules guiding some of these spellings. A word as a noun may be spelled differently as a verb, still in British, and may be unchanged in American. It takes practice to know and understand these things.
Generally, British colonies use the British style unless otherwise instructed for academic or blog writers.
If your client or the audience you're writing for is British, please stick to it; if American, stick to it.
And if you were not given any style, be consistent with one. Don't mix British and American in your writing.
