Hey there... I'm a newbie here on hive;
Funny how everything seems flattering, pushing me out like a ball that slipped through a goalkeeper's hand into the net/goalpost. Yeah, it feels like I'm in the spotlight and that makes me want to shy away, smiles...

Although, I have long wished that I was on this platform but, I have never envisaged that I would feel this way on my first day yeah but, I would still say that it is okay to be an alien in a new space/environment.

I would love to say a big thank you to my man @starstrings01, for he has been such a sweet soul. Since we've met, he's been generous with almost everything he has towards me. He specially reached out to me to tell me about the boot-camp cohort and asked if I was interested. Also, my sincere thanks to the boot-camp team @olujay @monioluwa @starstrings01 @hive-bootcamp at large.
I already am connecting with some of my other newbies from the boot-camp cohort group, but I still hope to connect and interact with some other lovely people here on hive community too. The cohort journey was wonderful, I must say.
ABOUT MYSELF
My name is ADEBOBOLA, I'm from the western part of Africa, the YORUBA tribe to be precise. I'm a fashion designer, specialized in making both gender's (male and female) wears. I'm a student of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta(College), currently studying CHEMISTRY (I opted in for COMPUTER SCIENCE though). It breaks my heart to tell y'all that I've been a freshman since the year 2020; anyways, God knows best.
School for me is one of those interesting environment you could ever find yourself. For some of us that are students like me, it obviously is a place that keeps us away from all of the family and siblings drama/ home chores and all. Above all, you get to experience life on a whole different level, meet people from different walks of life; mutually interacting, with the hope of achieving the same goal.
My course hasn't actually been as bad as I've heard it to be; probably because I have not gotten that deep into it, but, I hope it stays as sweet as it as started.

My life as a fashion designer started somewhat five/six years ago (at the time, I was an aspirant of some universities/college which I eventually didn't get into). As a result, I had to shift all of my attention and energy to fashion which I've always loved. I registered at a fashion school, got in and started learning. At first the world seemed completely different; started by learning how to take measurements, knowing the body parts that needs to be measured, learning new terms that mostly relate fashion to the general world, and some terms to fashion world only, learning about the sewing machine itself; I tell you it was tasking but, I was loving it.

I paused doing the indoor learning for a while just to go further into learning fabric sourcing and other sewing materials sourcing, having to explore different market searching for shades of colors, some specific fabrics, knowing and choosing the right fabric that suits a particular style and so on. It was more strenuous than I thought it would be but, it was a major part of learning that one cannot skip so, I had to learn it anyways.

Learning how to relate with customers was one part that I really enjoyed, conversing with them, hearing their different styles, bringing their various projections to life, down to hearing their feedbacks (the positive and the negative), learning tolerance. Fashion for me in all has been beautiful.

My love for photography just slipped in (I can't even remember when but, it was all for the sake of the brand). Doing product shoot is a part that sweetens me too and I feel like it is not all the time that I might need to relate my concept to a photographer; I mean I should be able to manage some petty shoots myself. Just so you know, all the images in this post were taken by me except the one that contained my colleagues and I.
THINGS THAT I LOVE TO DO AT MY LEISURE
I'm a great lover of good sound(music) no matter the genre but, I love therapeutic and indigenous songs more. For me, I think they carry more meanings in their lyrics. I save space for music in everything I do. I don't just love or listen to music alone, I also do music, but in my space and not as a major career, I've gone for several gigs with my friend(s), played so many shows with my skill. I could be a singer, sometimes a drummer, percussionist and an aspiring guitarist. Yeah of course I also love games; virtual games, video games, mobile games, as long as they are all consoles. I love to take pictures too.
IN CONCLUSION
It would be a thing of joy for me to meet with some other creative minds, fashion designers, music lovers, writers and photographers etc. here on hive so as to learn and unlearn lot of things
