Hello everyone, how are you doing on this beautiful day? Hope it is going great for you and all is in order? As always, I am happy to make a post in this community.
My post for today will be based on something we find ourselves a victim of at one time or the other. Due to the limitations of the human mind and body, we find ourselves succumbing to it. And what is this called? Improper scheduling.
I am a writer, that is what I do for a living, as I have said before. Aside from blogging, I am also a ghostwriter, content creator, and Book Project Consultant. And due to this fact, I usually have quite a number of things to do in a single day. There can never be enough hours in a day that will give me enough time to do everything I want to do.
The thing is that for a while, I found doing so many different things to be overwhelming for me. Sometimes I would forget I had to get something done, other times I will spend so much time on one thing. There were other scenarios as well, where one activity of mine kept clashing with the others until it felt like I was drowning in all the work.
And that was when I realized my problem. While I had a lot of things to do, and a limited amount of time, I had no plan at all. I had no schedule of any kind that would make everything easier and seamless for me.
And that was when I decided to create a schedule. On it, I listed all the activities I had to do on an average day, which included my blogging, other writing jobs, regular house chores, feeding, relaxation, and the like. And when I was done, I created a timetable and fixed a certain amount of time for each activity.
It was as I was doing this that I realized that the reason I had all that trouble in the first place was that I used my time wrongly. When I had each activity allocated to a particular time of the day, there would not be a second of that day that will go unaccounted for. I will always be doing something.
And so, I incorporated this into my life and began to make use of it. On each activity I made sure I spent only the allocated time, I tried to finish up before the time lapsed so that it won’t eat into the time of the other activity because each one is important. And when I was done with that one as well, I moved on to the next. One after the other until the day was gone.
It was not easy at first, but with time I was able to get used to this pattern and now it is what I use on a daily basis. My blogging and other jobs run seamlessly side by side that one might wonder if I really do anything else. I finally have control over the way I work.
So my dear friends, have you been experiencing something similar to my situation? What was your solution? If you are yet to get one, you are welcome to try mine out. Although when setting the activities for the day you must be sure you do not put too much to do. Because if it is not realistic then it won’t be achievable. And when you fail you would feel bad about the entire thing.
So set realistic targets and work hard towards keeping it. In time, it will become a habit for you.
Thank you for reading, till we meet in the next post.
