This is the year 2024 and there is just so much to look forward to. The year is packed with a lot of potential life-changing events and I’m looking forward to every single one of them. At this point, I’m sure everything will go smoothly. Or at least, I hope it will. Although I just can’t imagine what could possibly go wrong to make things not go as planned.
But then, nothing is set in stone and life can go forth in any direction at all. Things can go terribly wrong in a way we would never expect, just as they can also go tremendously right in a way we didn’t expect either. All in all, we have to keep the faith going at all times.
One thing I am very much looking forward to this year is my graduation from this school. After I wrote my final paper last year, the moment I dropped my pen I transitioned into my final year and if everything goes according to plan, I should be done with this school by the end of the year.
I really can’t wait to get this thing done. School life is simply frustrating and tiring. At some point, it would make you simply want to pull your hair right out of its scalp. Nothing about schooling is easy, so I guess that’s the main thing that makes it so annoying for everyone. And I’m tired, I just want to be done so I can focus on my work and building myself outside the academic space.
I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ll say this again. One thing that really limits us is the school system. It’s not designed for students who have a life outside of it. If you work, either your job or your academics will suffer for it. If you’re a nursing mother, the system won’t treat you any better. Not even if you’re a father with a boatload of responsibilities.
Despite it all though, we work through all the inconveniences. We see them as obstacles and challenges put in place to test us so that by the time we’re done in school, we’ll be ready to take on anything at all that the world throws our way.
It’s not easy combining work with school, my saving grace is that I work from home and as such I’m in control of my time. I can decide to work at midnight, or early in the morning, so that helps me very much in being regular to school and also how I hit my books. Sadly, it’s not that easy for those who have regular day jobs and have to battle traffic… but then, what can we do? We have to make this money or else coming to school would be pointless if we can’t pay for it.
Anyway, I’m tired of this life and I want to break out and explore the world. I want to travel, I want to write, I want to do so many things and I know that it’s only a matter of time before I do all that.
I’ll still be serious about my studies, or what’s left of it. I’ll still try my best to get the best GP I possibly can. But know that I just can’t wait for it all to be over. I can’t wait for a period when I’ll look into the coming months and I won’t see lecture halls and assignments in it. That’s what I’m looking forward to. And if things go according to plan, it’s all going to happen this year. Unfailingly!
