Hello everyone, how are you doing on this day? The week is gradually coming to a close and once again we are geared up for the coming weekend.
My post for today is inspired by the third topic that was chosen by the community. And I will be talking about my experience on the Hive blockchain so far.
Well, it is only by virtue of the Hive blockchain that I officially became a blogger. Initially, my plan had been to open up my own website or blog. I had even been ready to get an account with WordPress and the likes. But back then, I had just gotten admission and school runs distracted me from it for a long time. By the time I was ready to try it again, there was no money to back it up. So my blogging dreams were put on hold.
Well, that was until I was introduced to Hive, and this was in the year 2020. And ever since then, there has been no going back for me.
At first, like most newbies on the blockchain, it was not easy at all. I made a lot of posts and it seemed I was the only one actually reading them. It was disheartening and frustrating. But then, I was guided and tutored by my good friend, he gave me pointers on how to grow in the blockchain.
One of the key things I have realized since then is that you just have to stick to what you know best, that way you would never run out of good content. I started by writing short stories which was something I was quite good at then, and also I was engaging with people. I began to grow and learn better how to behave in the blockchain.
And with time, I diversified. And now I also write articles on a daily. Back when I started, if someone had told me I would be dishing out articles like this on a regular basis, I would have found it difficult to believe. Because back then, I found it hard to write down anything that was not a story. But Hive taught me to challenge myself and make myself learn what was needed and today, I am a better person than I had been when I first opened the account.
So now, let me answer the questions.
Do I blog with my phone or a PC? Well, I do it with both. When I make articles and I write my stories, I do it on my laptop. I have found my thoughts flow easier when I type with both hands and I am saying the words out loud. But with the phone, making a post is quite difficult for me. It makes me feel sleepy, especially when it is an article. Back when I started though, before I got my PC, I was using my phone for all of my blogging. It was not easy, but I made it work.
What I use the phone to do these days though is to engage my fellow bloggers, I make comments and support them. That works better than the PC because it’s just like I’m going through my Facebook timeline, liking posts, and dropping comments.
Do I write my words down first or type them? Before I got my PC, I always wrote down whatever it was I wanted to type. I had a special book where I wrote down every post I ever made. Then I copied it onto my phone before making the post. But now, with the laptop, I find it easier to just type them directly. It saves a lot of time and I can control my word count as I work. So I do it that way.
How have I found blogging so far? Well, to be honest, it has been an eye-opening experience for me. I have learned a lot about myself that I never even knew. It was on this platform that I was able to perfect my skill in writing flash fiction, copywriting and content creating, and this has helped me in areas of my life outside the platform for which I am very grateful. Thanks to Hive, my entire career is now based on my writing skills, even though I am studying Electrical Engineering in school.
I know I am yet to achieve much, but I also appreciate the little I have gotten and how far I have come. I am always open to learning new things and I do not hesitate to ask questions or help out those that need my assistance. Because these are ways we also help ourselves and grow in the process. There is still a long way to go in this blockchain and I am looking forward to every step of it. And I hope to go through it all with you.
So friends, what do you think about my blogging experience? Is it one that you relate to? Let me know in the comments section.
Thank you all for reading, till we meet in the next post.
