The month of December comes with a lot of things to do, it’s part of the demands of the season. If you’re not doing them in your house, you’re most likely doing them at work or in your place of worship. There are things we’d be doing until the very last day of the year, there’s no escaping that. However, there are also things that we’ve most likely done for the last time, and we won’t be attempting it again until the New Year.
There are the things we know for sure that we’re not doing again, and then there are those we don’t even know yet. If circumstances don’t demand it, then we most likely won’t. As it stands now, there are some people who won’t step foot in public transport anymore for the rest of the year. For the rest of this season, anywhere that can’t be accessed on foot would be off-limits. There are also those who won’t be visiting the market, or doing anything else because they know they’ve done the last one for the year.
So, for me, I very well know the one thing I’ve done for the last time this year. And that is stepping foot in my school. As of yesterday, I rounded up all my business with school for the year and I don’t think there’s anything that’ll make me go there anymore. Until the new session begins, which should be next month.
It’s been an eventful academic year, it has been extremely frustrating and back-breaking, so I think this holiday I’m going on is well-deserved. It’s the least I can do for myself after all the premium shege this school has shown me. So, I’ll be taking time off school to clear my mind. I don’t even want to see lecture halls or practical workshops. I’ve had my fill of them for the year.
Another thing I feel I’m done with for the rest of the year is taking on writing jobs. If I take a new one now, it would run through Christmas and New Year celebrations, and I really don’t want that. So, no work for me. I’m done for the year. Last year, I took on jobs even during the holiday and it dampened the celebration for me. But that won’t be the same this time around. I’m going to take extra care to enjoy myself a bit.
It won’t affect my Hive doings though. If you’ve been following my posts, then you know that the majority of my posts are based on my day-to-day activities. So, if I don’t make posts on Hive, who will I tell about how my celebrations are going? Hehe… Besides, I also want to use this opportunity to explore more ways of taking pictures.
For months, I’ve been taking only pictures within my school area. So, I’ll take pictures in other places, and where better to share and store them for posterity than right here on Hive? So, Hive is something I’ll keep at, no matter what.
Another thing that won’t be affected is the publishing of my upcoming book. What caused a bit of delay was the making of the cover. There was so much back and forth between me and the designers, and working on it stretched for longer than I expected. But it’s all done, and I’m ready to reveal it! By tomorrow evening, I’ll share the cover here, with an excerpt from the book!
A year-long project that I’ve been working on, this is the last lap of the journey in getting it into the world. And I’m super psyched about all the possibilities that could come of it! So, as I said, the publishing plan won’t be affected and the book will be published as expected.
So many things to be done, so little time to actually do them. That is why time management is important. If you manage your time well, you’ll be able to use it more effectively, but if you’re careless about it, then you won’t even notice when the entire world passes you by and you’ll still be stuck in the same place.
The New Year is filled with possibilities, and I’m excited to see what it has in store for me.
