Hello everyone, how are you doing this wonderful evening? It is a good day indeed, even though the weather is almost hot enough to boil an egg. But it is all good, the week has started fully and we will take it with everything we have got.
Today I will be talking about the difference between hard work and smart work.
There was a time that hard work paid. That time, what you could achieve could be synonymous to just how hard you worked. If you put yourself to the worst conditions, there was this hope that you would get the best of rewards. That is why at work we see people that are working overtime, working harder than their peers for no extra pay because they are looking to get promoted to where they will do even more work.
There was a time all that used to work. Well not anymore. Because in this age and time, the gold is no longer in how hard you work, but how smart.
Working smart basically means you doing the same amount of work in an easier way. By this you either have someone else do it for you, or you make use of a machine. Either way, it will be done better and faster and that will leave time for you to get other things done.
Working smart is just you choosing to do things the easier way. As in if it would take you six hours to get something done, and you have to do at least three in a day, you will know that to meet up it will require a lot of hard work. But what if you now discovered an easier and faster way, that will give you the same result but in less than an hour.
When you employ this, you will save yourself a lot of time spent working and use it to create more of the product.
Please note that there are no shortcuts in life, and working smart is not a shortcut. When you work smart, you go through the same process but at a faster pace and usually with better results. After all, as they say, anything worth doing is always worth doing well.
And this post does not in any way encourage fraudulent activities, defrauding people of their hard earned money is not smart work at all. It is simply stealing.
So, my dear friends, this life is not easy at all. A lot of us go through so much in the house, at work, in our places of worship... We have these routines that we have subconsciously settled into. Working our butts off day in day out.
And so, if you find an easy way to get things done, please do it.
Provided it is legal, and won't cost you your job or life, then by all means do it. You will find that it will make you more productive as a person, a colleague and an employee. And who knows, that might just be the start of your promotion.
Thank you for reading, till we meet in the next post.
