There is a prize for every decision we take in life, if you choose to be lazy, you will pay the prize as i have not heard anyone making it in life by just sleeping and waking up without doing anything, if you choose to be hardworking, fortune may smile on you along the way, hardwork is not the only criteria for success, we have luck, smartness and grace also involved but at least you stand a chance if you are hardworking........
Being self disciplined has paved ways for many people, the ability to be able to control oneself from doing the wrong thing or taking the wrong step is not what everyone has, some people have used the money that would have change their life to gamble, you will see them in bet naija shops gambling their fortune away and there is this statement they used to utter..[ i have lost a lot in gambling] It is obvious they know they are losing money but still they can't stop themselves from doing it, it is bacause they lack self discipline...
Some other people lack self discipline when it comes to food, they can't just keep their mouth idle, they must to chew or eat something and they can spend any money just to get their stomach filled, i call them glutton and the disadvantage there is they would use money meant for more important things to eat, kind of look as if they were born to eat...
All this lack of self discipline is the reason why some people's life remain stagnant in life, which reminds me of a decision i took few years ago which boost my hive journey, i will call it self discipline at its best..
It was during my early days on the hive platform and i was not earning well at all, i was earning more from contest so i decided to stop posting and take the contest more serious and that was exactly what i was doing when an opportunity came for me to be able to earn from posting but it requires something from me, i need to have a certain amount of hive power which is 700 hive power...
I had just 150 hive power, no way to get the 700 hive power within that short time, i kept thinking about what to do until a solution crossed my mind but that solution would cost me alot, the solution is to take a loan of that 700 hive power in which i will be paying weekly until i finish paying it....
The problem is once i take that loan, i won't be able to spend or cash out hive again and i rely on hive to feed, it was a very tough decision for me to take but at the end, i decided to take the loan and worry about the consequence later, i took it and i started earning well but i had to sacrifice something, i stopped eating much food and had to manage the money with me until i finish paying the loan..
You must be wondering what is the self discipline in this story, i had to stop eating three meals a day and go for the 1-0-1 format, nigerians would understand this, it means eating breakfast, skipping lunch and eating dinner, the ones i am also taking are not balanced diet as i drink garri most time just to save some money, i made it an habit throughout the 3 months i use in paying the loan...
If i was not self disciplined or believe in my self, i won't have taken the loan and i won't have been able to be able to finish paying the loan on time if i didn't limit how i spend..
Self discipline really matters and everyone must learn to have it as it would help them a great deal in life...
