First of all, I wonder why people prioritize a day celebration so much that they go the extreme way to the extent of hurting their account balance just to make themselves look dashing and flashy on that day, I hear statements like I have not bought Christmas clothes and shoes.
Some people find it embarrassing that they can not afford a cock to celebrate Christmas and they will do whatever it takes to get the money either by borrowing or other means, all for what?
Meanwhile chicken now costs 17 000 naira which is almost some people's salary, If I am earning 30 000 naira in a month, My family should just forget anything called chicken because I can't buy chicken and drink garri for the rest of the month.
The most annoying part of all this is people that demand Christmas gifts, It gets me confused because Christmas is a day meant to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ the messiah so these people demanding a gift, I do not understand their motives for making such a request, are they now dragging Jesus birthday with Him.
All these things only hurt the pocket, they drain it and after all the celebration is over is when some people's eyes get cleared and they realize the debt they put themselves into during the festive moment and they will use weeks or even month to pay off the debt that was incurred in a day.
This is why I plan ahead of any festival, first of all, festive days are the most boring for me because most people are in hyper mode on such days.
I am already getting calls and some people asking me what they are getting as a Christmas gift, When am I coming back from school and others like I am going to take them out when I get back home, all these demands will only hurt my pocket and to avoid being among those who complain their pocket is dry after the festive day, I already plan ahead and the best way to avoid all this deputy and Jesus twin is not to go home lol.
These will save me a lot of money and one more thing is to switch off my phone when it is a few days to Christmas, Burl life matters lol.
