Nowadays, it feels most people go to school just to seek validation, you know, just for others to know they are also a graduate... We were led to believe that school is the key to becoming successful in life, but reality sets in after we finish school, and there is no work available for us to do.

In my own opinion, the primary school education is enough, I think it is still the best because that is where we were taught how to read and write and also calculate, you see the rest, secondary school and tertiary education is pure scam and waste of time!.
The way one of my teachers took drawing of cockroaches seriously in secondary school would make one think it would have a real use case outside school, but all the drawings are basically useless! There is nowhere to apply it in reality.
The tertiary education I am currently undergoing is also a waste of time because I gained no knowledge, just a load of assignments and projects, with the lecturers assuming you already know it. In the end, I came with zero knowledge and will be leaving next year also with zero knowledge.
In the end, most people who graduated will dump their certificate due to a lack of jobs, and the few available ain't paying enough, so our best option is to learn a skill.
Last month, I wanted to make a new wardrobe, when I and my carpenter was discussing about the kind of wardrobe I want to do and I described it, He brought out a pen and book and sketch it there and I was impressed with his beautiful sketch and it doesn't even look like something I can draw without support and this man drew it without any reference, this is the true definition of being skillful and knowing ones work.

This was when it dawned on me that most of these vocations required skills; it is not something you can just jump into, yeah we can learn things by hardwork but it will take more time compared to those who are talented in the field and even talent needs to be nurtured and my carpenter is really good at his job because all the furnitures he has even done for me are still in good condition compared to the others I used when I was far away from his location.
Recently, I had a conversation with my fashion designer when we were trying to pick a style for my native wear, and I asked him about a particular design, which he told me was done by a monogram machine and was quite expensive to do.
He further told me how expensive the machine is and how no one is doing it in our area, and to get it done for me, he will need to go like 4 bus stops to our place, which is the nearest.
The way he explained the business and the money in it piqued my interest, and I have been dreaming about learning it.
Given one month, I will go and learn how to design and operate a monogram machine. Operating it is not hard based on the information I have gathered; the main work is designing the work customers bring, and with my little knowledge of computers, I would be able to learn and understand it within a month.
Curious about what they use the monogam machine for? It is used for embroidering letters, names or any design you want on fabrics, also for business branding and logos.
