Growing up as a kid, i was always mocked by my friends, they call me silly names because i always bounce when playing football with them...
Most time, i don't get to play football because no one end up selecting me to play with them, every one want star player and we that we suck at it end up just watching the match for the day..
It was like that till i finish primary school and my sis invited me to another state to come live with her and her husband...
That was my first time of leaving lagos state, i moved to ogun state, ijebu land precisely and it was the start of something new...
There is a saying that, the best in a certain place could be an amateur somewhere else and the worst in a certain place could be the best when he visit another area, the latter was my case.. When i got to ijebu ode, i missed up with my neighbour and i started playing football with them and i was surprised they regarded me as a star player lol...
Even the thing shock me, like is this for real? that same me that my friend in lagos used to mock for bouncing with the ball suddenly became a star player in another state...oh well i enjoyed the praise and glory for some months and after the two terms in secondary school class 1, i decided to visit my family and friends at home....
It was then i realized my football skills have increased a great deal and my friends who used to mock me back then are also hailing me that i am now better, what happen to me where i went to lol....
I left home again after the holiday ended but then like two years later, i returned home fully and my skills have become more better, anytime we have a friendly match or competition, i am always among the players to represent my community, i am no longer among the cheerleaders because i am always playing too. No more Teamless as i always play with the first set and most always want me in their team...
One thing i wonder is, if i didnt leave home, would that talent of mine be discovered? could it be because of the negativity coming from friends that made it impossible for me to nurture the talent in me? why is it when i was praised for being a good footballer that i suddenly become better...
That is my story....
Of how i became a star footballer just by leaving my home to a new place...This is something many people need... Leaving that area that does not appreciate them to a place where they are valued...
Even though life happened , i stopped playing football but i know the skills is still there and i just need to pick it up again but no time... Man must survive and it is not by playing football.. Before you quote me that footballers are very rich, yea they are rich but not everyone can become a footballer, would you waste your years clinging unto 0.1 percent chance of you becoming a real international footballer or hustle and make some money.. The choice is yours, i made my own choice lol...
