December, Christmas and all of the festivities of the season attracts so much splurging. There's got to be just enough food, drinks, money to get gifts and for travelling, for hangout and whatever else people love to do with this holiday.

And it's not very uncommon that some people want to make of it a huge celebrate not nearly putting inspite their finance capability into consideration. I've seen cases of people who toil so hard through the year only to spend it all extravagantly during this period. And by the start of a new year, they are back to point zero. I cannot afford for that to be me. Cannot even be.
There's a lot going on with me at the moment. And especially so much requiring finance. And so, one thing I wouldnt want to be guilty of is impulse spending or overspending. Knowing especially that in the coming year, I might be having lots of expenses, I cannot spend more than I can afford. I identify as a minimalist and hope to make the holiday fun but only within my means.
December is like every other month to me. I'm not particularly crazy about it because I mostly do what I always do. I don't even get to spend anything more than I do in other months. Infact, I receive very much. It's just this one time that I want to include a little something for fun(particularly because I may be having guests) that I might have to make a little dent in my purse.
This period as every other, we get stuff in bulk. It is especially helpful to save cost considering how prices of items always tend to hit the roof. Food is important for all the merriment and it takes much in all the spending. Usually we get the items before the season when the prices are less expensive. Thankfully, I don't have to spend any dime here. Okay maybe for some beverages, that's all. It's all on the house. I had mentioned that I'd be trying new recipes, still, whatever new item I need, I'd add that to the house shopping list.
Before now, I already had in mind things I was going to do this period and their estimated cost. I firstly have kept aside money for my needs not relating to this season's merriment so I can always afford to take out from what is left. Plus the little I have saved for certain of my activities this season.
Budgeting and going over finance is a habit for me.
At times like this, out of over-excitement, people purchase things that hold short-term to no value at all. It's quite easy to get overwhelmed by the merriment and perform beyond ones means. But that is one thing making a list, determining what is absolutely necessary and sticking to budget would curb.
January comes with bills and expenses, as such, it's important that one budgets for and tracks their expenses in order not to fall into penury and debt after the season.
Thanks for gracing this post.
