Hive is a lot different from most (if not all) other social media platforms. In particular, I enjoy the puzzled looks on the faces of people when they peep into my phone in public or anywhere and are unable to make out what i am doing and what platform it is.
It is a great chain here. Nice settings, great features and overall, amazing workings. It would have been just perfect but for this one thing that was skipped. Because asides that, there's little to nothing that I can complain of.
That said, the one thing that I think know which would have been a great addition and would very much improve the experience on here is the Retrieve password feature.
Going through some entries already, it's glaring that I am not the only one who looks forward to a time when this would be available. And thankfully, that's one beautiful thing about platforms...the rooms for adjustments.
One time last year when my phone developed a fault and I could not get it to come in unless it was flashed, which I consented to, I lost all my important files. I lost my Hive keys too. My chest burned that day! Everything I had saved on my device, gone, just like that. At that time, I did not even have a memory card on my phone. It was some debilitating loss.
Hive was top of my worries as regards the loss. With Facebook and the rest other platforms, all I had to do was fill in some details, make some confirmations and I'd get my ownership back. With hive, nah! That meant starting all over and that is some work. I had not even gotten to this point I presently am in but the thought of starting all over rattled me.
Lucky for me, and as a way of safekeeping my keys, I had sent my Hive details to my brother, which he sent to me and that gave me access to my account, again. Phew!
I don't know about any other person else but I am very scared of losing my details. The knowledge that the passwords, when lost, cannot be retrieved has made me very intentional about safekeeping the details and making duplicates in different storage spaces. Despite these measures, there still could be mishaps. It's illogical that anyone puts in so much effort and time and builds up something for themselves here and in one unfortunate occurrence, it all goes to nothing. It doesn't even tell well of the organization and roper management of this hub.
Hive is capable of this small development and I hope a system whereby our keys, when lost, can be restored is put in place. Doesn't even matter how stringent the procedures involved in the recovery are. What matters is that there's a way forward and a solution in time of this such crisis.
Hopefully all our suggestions get some attention and some(maybe those made the most) are considered and worked upon. That'll mean a win/progress for us all.
Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!
