I've been waiting for this opportunity to really tell you all how I feel. For a while now I've been thinking if blogging really is my thing. Now, the @hive-learners Community have given me a chance to open up with this week's Edition Blogging Experience
First time experience
I've never actually blogged before hive. I had been in no way interested in writing, ohh well, I wrote some dark stories about how I felt and some fictions in a note I got but I didn't think it was good enough. I never thought that I'll ever find myself in a place where I'll be writing to earn
Joining hive was a big leap of faith for me, I thought to myself "why not give a try??", and I did give it a try. It wasn't easy because I didn't have any prior experience with writing. I was surprised I didn't stop after the first two weeks, I tried pushing myself, maybe the thought of getting paid was the drive.
After a month of writing weird things ( I really have a good sense of humor) and not getting much upvotes. I finally confessed to myself that I suck and I'm never blogging again. I stayed away for a while and then one day I decided to read to read someone's post and I got captivated. Then I thought to myself, if she can do it, you might as well try.
Jeff Jarvis
So with this in mind I came back more determined, read a lot more posts from better bloggers. @Mineopoly helped a great deal with his lessons, @samsmith1971 was big on encouragement and @dreemsteem gave me tips on how to make it here. This amazing people actually aided my blogging experience.
How it's going now
I've had a lot of people react shocked when they heard that I'm blogging now. They didn't think the talented dancer would also be a talented writer. But look at me now, I'm doing the most, I've not won a Grammy on blogging yet but I'm doing a lot better than I was before.
My writing has improved a great deal, it doesn't take me ages to look for inspiration before writing, I just start writing and it goes smoothly, words just keep pouring out from nowhere, I can boldly call myself a blogger now. The growth has been phenomenal with the help of Hive, there's still a lot to learn and I'm ready to go all the way.
My blogging process
Well, I don't have a PC like my main man @nelson-george does but then I have something else, something that would blow your mind. Ohh shit, I forgot a picture of my phone is just right below, hahaha. But, I'm sure it still blew your mind, if it didn't then...let's move on.
I do all my blogging on my phone, it's actually quite helpful, even though sometimes it gets tiring and it hangs a lot. My phone doesn't have enough storage space so it gets overwhelmed sometimes, but I love my baby, she still ends up delivering me.
First of all if I get a prompt or I get inspiration to write, I just go straight to my Note on my phone and I start writing, I just let it flow. All my writing so far has been done here, it's quite easy and notifies me of spelling errors.
When I'm done editing I go straight to my gallery to look for any of my original pictures that depict what I want to post about, sometimes I do that before writing. If I find any of my original pictures worthy, I go straight to my editing apps and work wonders on them. I make use of Picsart the most because my phone can't actually carry Canva, it messes with my phone's activities.
Picsart, Pixellab and Pix something
If I can't find any, I go straight to a site that allows you to use pictures for free then I download them. @peakD actually makes the posting process easier, I proof read on peakD to look for errors a nd add all the images. It's quite easy and fast, unlike before it takes me less than 30minutes to draft a good post but I could use more than that if I want to create an amazing post. I like to take my time.
That's how my blogging experience has been so far, it's sailing smoothly. If you're a newbie and you're thinking of quitting, I implore you not to yet. Give it more time, learn from other authors who have more experience and do well to engage with a lot more people, you'll find how natural and easy it'll be for you.
Thank you for reading this, if you enjoyed it or it connected to you in a way, I invite you to drop a comment I'll be glad to reply❤️
