Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt, doctors on strike.
A health centre is one of the necessary things every community and nation should have well equipped and up to a standard. If the health practitioner should go on a strike, it will be a desertion for the country and the people existing in the country. Most times I ask myself why the government will not pay and treat the people that save lives well.
I am not even proud of my country's health care. The very first time I visited the hospital, I covered myself with shame because it was really an eyesore; the place is too terrible to even be called a hospital. I went to the ward; I couldn’t stand the smell coming from there. I had to run away from the ward. If I, as a healthy person, can’t stand the smell, how much more these sick people there?
It is always painful that every election our politicians will come up with campaign promises; once they win the election, they will not fulfil anyone. Every country should have a standard health centre and good practitioners working in these health centres.
Most of our health practitioners are leaving the country because the government doesn’t value them and they are underrated. The move to other countries that love and appreciate them, that are well equipped, and that also pay them very well.
The way I see my country, if nothing is done to improve the way the government sees the doctors, the majority of the doctors will move to a country that knows their worth. And it will not be nice.
Doctors are very important in any country, and them going on a strike will really be a disaster. There will be loss of life and no one to care for and treat the sick people. There was a time the doctors went on a strike; the rate of death was too much. I lost one of my neighbours that period. He was involved in an accident, but the only way for him to survive was to go for surgery. The money was there to carry out the surgery, but there was no doctor to commence treatment. That was how he lost him. I see no reason why the government should not treat the doctors well, knowing how important they are.
I totally understand why everyone is afraid of the doctors going on strike; life is involved, and going on strike means loss of life. These doctors are dying silently, and going on strike is the only way the government can come to their aid.
Going on a strike is the only way the government will hear the silent cry of the doctors; they need to pay them well and equip the health sectors. The doctors and the nurses deserve better, if I must say so; they are very important.
