Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt, gap year.
Life is not fair; it comes with many ups and downs. Life is also fun and a wonderful place to exist; no matter how challenging life may be, we still see reason to keep pushing with the hope of succeeding. There is no human in his or her right sense of mind that will stay a year without doing anything meaningful.
For me, I can’t take a whole year off just to do nothing. I can’t just imagine disconnecting myself from my daily routine and responsibilities. I have many challenges, which is why I need to keep pushing because there are so many people who depend on me. Most times I wish I could get a rest, but I can’t; I need to keep pushing. A gap year means there will be no food on my table and that of my family. Every human needs a break.
Most times all we need is a break from hustle and life just to cool off from the challenges of life, far from dramas and the hardship of life, to have enough rest and zero our minds about the battle we are facing in life.
There is nothing bad if one is given a one-year gap; seriously, life is so hard for people, and they pass through a lot just to survive. Life has been so hard that people don’t have rest again every day; there is one challenge or another. There is no human that will offer a one-year gap, and the person will not jump to the offer.
If I am opportune to have a one-year gap, I will utilise the opportunity very well. Of late, I have developed an interest in technology, and I have always wished I had time to learn. For me, it will really be a productive year because I will develop myself and not sit at home doing nothing. I will develop myself.
If there is anything I desire right now, it is a one-year gap. I have faced a lot of challenges this year; some I overcame, some I didn’t. It comes to a point where all that could come to my mind is how I wish I were a baby, but life is not fair at all; it will never give you all you wish.
I get to understand how important rest is to humans. In the month of May, I always complain at work about headaches. I went to the pharmacy and bought medicine for headaches, but I was not seeing any improvement. It started affecting my productivity at work. I had to apply for a break. That is when I realised all I needed was rest. At times, the solution to our problem is rest.
As much as we are hustling to make ends meet for ourselves, it is very necessary for us to have rest for us to be productive wherever we see ourselves.
I don’t see a one year as an excuse for procrastination; having a one-year gap will be a step up for growth—personal, emotional, and mental.
