Good day, amazing people of the Hive blockchain! Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to be participating in this week's prompt topic: Why so forgetful? At some point in our life we forget things, which is not bad.
There is nobody who doesn't forget; it is one of the things that make us human. There is nothing bad if someone forgets something; there are things we will plan or gather information about, but it will slip our mind. It may take us time to remember; by the time we remember, we will find out that it is too late. If I am to rate my forgetful nature, I will rate it 70/100. I forget things easily. It is not in my mind to always forget things, but I find myself being forgetful.
Most things are always annoying when I forget important things, like forgetting a day I should defend my project. Project defence is one of the things every undergraduate does after they write their final exams. Imagine me forgetting such a thing that is important to me. After my exams, I have been doing my project work with my friends. Most times we stay awake to research our project. On several nights we are always awake reading and practicing how we will defend our project in the presence of our external supervisor.
I received an emergency call from home a few weeks before my project defence. Do you know that I forgot my project defence? It started receiving calls from my friends asking me what happened. When they asked me the question, I was confused because I totally forgot that my project defence was that day. I was like, Baby, what happened? This one you are asking me what happened? She was like Cindy, really. She dropped the call very angrily. Immediately I called back to know why she sounded like that. She was like, Of all things that I will forget, my project defence. Immediately I was shocked; my body stopped functioning at that moment because I didn’t know what to do at that moment. At that moment, all I can think is what will I do at that moment?
Seriously, it ruined things for me. I didn’t graduate with my friends; I have to stay for another year to join my junior colleague to defend my project. It was not easy for me. I had to hustle for me to be able to pay my school fees. It was not easy for me.
It really taught me a lot of lessons. I always put important information on reminders so that I will not forget. These have always helped to reduce the way I forget things.
