Oh yes, it is a special season, a season of merriment. While merry, remember to cut your coat according to your size. Always remember that celebrations never end, but spend beyond your capacity.
This is during this period that a lot of people go into debt just to look good for Christmas. I know of someone who is in debt today because of this season. She borrowed money from someone to buy expensive hair and clothes.
You can also celebrate Christmas in a small way, and it will be nice. You don't need to put yourself in debt for the celebration of the birth of Jesus. I understand we need to celebrate it, but please don't overspend.
If you don't have much to celebrate this year, you can celebrate it the little way you can without putting yourself in debt.
As for me, I can't have an elaborate Christmas celebration and put myself in debt. As I am spending any money, I am thinking of how January will be. January comes with a whole lot of bills to settle. If you don't plan yourself very well, you will be putting yourself in debt.
Below is how I budget myself for the Christmas celebration.
During this season, things are very expensive. I buy all the things I will need for the Christmas season so that I don't have to spend all my life saving.
Over the years, I have put myself in big debt just because I want to paint the town red.
Currently, one's Xmas is approaching i don't joke with my budget i .
- I map out a particular amount I will spend: I do this every Christmas, and it has really helped me. One's Christmas, I will go to the bank and block my bank account so that I will not have access to it. This always helps me to leave with a budget. I will not spend more than the cash I have at hand. Most times after Christmas, I will still have a lot of cash at hand. It has really helped me not to overspend.
- I avoid unnecessary expenses: this season comes with a lot of expenses, and I will try my best to cut out those that are not important.
Such as traveling much in this season, for this kind of person, I go to my home town and visit friends and relatives. I will not be doing it this year. I will only visit people who are close. I really want to cut down on my expenses. I don't want to put myself in debt after this season.
- I have decided to go easy on decorations and gifts. Yes, it is the season of love this season. I will not be spending much on gifts; I will buy little this year.
Conclusion: It is wise to go into debt this season. The Christmas season can also be fun if you don't put yourself in debt.
