Good day, amazing people of the hive block chain. Welcome back to my blog.
Is a newbie clock I welcome you all to the newbies initiative task 4, as usually our meeting was held on Sunday by our host, @starstrings01. He teaches us about tags, tribe tokens, and hive engines. I swear, I have learned a whole lot from this newbie initiative; it has really been an eye-opener for me.
Question 1
Difference between tags and tokens
Tags: tags are used in promoting our work in the block chain, and they make it visible for other authors to see our post. Authors benefit from tags; using proper tags will attract curator reward.
Tags are always below our content peak; call it topic ecency, and leofinance call it tag. Examples of tags are neoxian, cent, archon, palnet, etc.
Token: This is a token that is created mainly by the community to reward its members and authors who use their tag in publishing posts. You earn this token by publishing it in the community. You can also buy and sell this token. Examples of tokens are Neoxag, Leo, etc.
Similarities
For me, I don't think there is any similarity between these two.
Tags are used to make posts visible. While tokens are created by communities, they are used to reward community members and authors who use their community tags when publishing a post and to get rewards for work well done.
You can get a token as a gift from someone, but someone can't gift you. I didn't see any similarity between these two.
Question 2
My review of tribe frontend exploration
My exploration of the two communities I visited and my review of the community
Ecency Community is one of the best communities I love visiting. I love everything about the community. Their setting is so cool to me and so simple and easy to access. I will give them 8/10.
Inleo
This community is mainly for finance and crypto currency. This is my first time trying this frontend, and I have been having issues accessing it. Being able to access it today makes me happy. If I most say anything, the frontend is really amazing. I love the way they organize the frontend. Their features are so sweet that I will give them a 7/10. Maybe as time goes on, they will have a 10 percent.
Question 3
Tipping token: simply means sharing a token or gifting a token to someone. Most of us have been tipped by this token. Most times, you will see beer and pizza in our comments. Those are gifts we receive from other authors. Examples are pizza, beer, Leo token, etc.
Abuse of the tip token can lead to punishment; begging another author to tip you a token or using another author's account to tip yourself is abuse of the token.
Question 4
There are many sites for buying and selling tokens. I will be using Leodex, and I find it easy there.
Step 1: Choose any browser of your choice and type in http://leodex.com. Once the site is opened, you log in to the website so that you will have full access to the site to buy and sell your token.
Step 2: Before you buy a token, you need to swap your token before you can buy any token. Click on deposit, and you will input the amount of hive you want to swap. You will then complete the transaction with the hive signer.
Step 3:
After you swap your hive, click on the three dashes on top, and you will see options. Click on Market because I am using Leodex; it will poop out, so I will choose my preferred token.
Step 4: I am buying an Airhawk. I check the price it is in the market.
Airhawk is purchased at 0.04900. I put in the necessary information and clicked on the buy icon.
How to sell
Below, you will see an option for selling tokens. Fill in the necessary details and proceed. After completing your details, click on the sell icon.
