We are in a generation where everything is digital; influencers and celebrities use social media to promote their careers and get the attention of their audience. That is why they always do apology videos to win the hearts of their followers.
Apology videos are not a new thing all over social media; whenever our celebrities and influencers are in trouble, they will come up with apology videos. Most times when I see those apology videos, I see them as emotional blackmail. They will come online shedding fake tears just to get pity from their fans, but deep down they are not really sorry. This is someone who has tarnished someone's reputation, sitting down in front of a camera, shedding crocodile tears. Most times when I come across those videos, I will scroll past them because most of them are not really sorry.
I have a friend who is an influencer the very day I see her do apology video she was so emotional shedding tears in camera and her fans really felt pity for her but deep down the apology is not from her heart she did that just to impress her audience and save her face she rubbish an influencers online and the fans of the influencer she rubbish was throwing shade on her telling her to come out an apology for rubbish her in order to save her face she have to sit in front of camera apologizing she even went as far as shedding tears just to impress her audience after her apology video i ask her if the tears was real or she just cried because she was on camera I found out that the apology was not real at all.
The majority of all these apology videos we see on the internet are not real; they are doing it just for the audience to see that they have apologised to the person on camera. If I were to rate the apology video, it would be 40/100. The apology is not genuine. If you see someone with a genuine apology, you will know the person doesn’t justify his or her actions; the person is every ready to face the consequences of their actions.
There are still apology videos that are real, but there are few. My mom will always tell me that I can lie to everyone, but I can’t lie to myself. When it comes to apology videos, it should come from a sincere place and not just to impress your followers. Your apology should come from your heart and not just from shedding tears on the camera.
For me, apologies should come from the heart and not the other way round. A genuine heart should be used when it comes to apology videos.
