
Working on reading or studying late into the night is what I do almost every day. If Im not working, Im read or studying. Sometimes, It might be watching movies or clubbing. Whichever way, night things aren't far from my activities
When did I start doing night things?
Specifically, I started staying late awake when I entered a tertiary institution. Studying engineering wasn't easy as I was told so when I gained admission, I wanted to break the fear and the only way that occurred to me was to stay awake till dead night to have a quiet night reading and cracking any nut that could obstruct my understanding to excel in that field
And what happened as I started cheating nature?
Well, It started funny. I would decide to read till cock crow and find my books under my belly squeezed early in the morning. It went on for a long time until I devised a plan. Yes, it was a saviour. It would help me to stay awake for some time. I began to read further than how I started. 30 minutes improvement was a way Impressive. But did it last long or longer

It faded with time

What faded? It's nothing other than NESCAFE! I take Nescafe to stay awake and it worked for a while. But after some time, I began to refuse to react to it. I would take it in large quantities and still sleep like a baby with my books scattered around. It didn't touch me anymore. My body chemistry changed and reset to normal. Nescafe stopped working for me. But some of my friends never stopped taking it because it's still working for them
Then I thought alcohol would help out.

Finally, I jammed a saviour. What NESCAFE cannot do, alcohol can do it better. Damn! This is fantamogloruous. I would stay awake till morning without sleeping. It really worked. But at a point, I would feel sleepy. Sipping a little gbese fire, scordron, Origin bitters, mc dowell, and the like would give me an elongated activeness into the deep night. Now, I need more concentration to stay active doing the right thing that made me decide to stay awake with the help of alcohol, but many times, the ginger makes me drift away if the regulation isn't intact. Each time I mistakenly sleep off, I wake up at an abnormal time. The day I woke up late when Im supposed to be in the exam hall was the funniest of all. Don't let us go there today. In short, Alcohol was never the best option for me to stay late studying or working
If it's important, find a way to do it, if it's not, find excuses
When I realized the artificial ways didn't work the way I expected, I began to try natural ways. Nature can never be cheated they say, but I can cheat nature if I have an important task to do overnight. The natural way worked. It wasn't a day's of work though. I began to stay awake with determination. I would read till anytime Im feeling sleepy and sleep with the mindset of completing my task by waking before cock crow. It took me time to stay used to it. Sleeping early became something out of my dico. I could read as far as I want if I want to. And no matter how late I stay asked, I must wake up when it's 5 AM. That Ive built over years and it's still running in my system to date
The natural way can be harnessed

This would take a hell of a time. Artificial ways would work instantly and fade. Some disadvantages come with artificially depriving yourself of sleep. The natural way would be the best. If you can sleep early and wake up a few hours later to tidy up your work, start learning that now. Whichever way speaks well for you is cool. However, having tried many ways, the natural dealings remain the best as far as Im concerned
