It's been a while since I have been here after seeing this week's prompt here on Hive Naija. I wanted to jump in on both, but the rule says I can only choose one, so I decided to write on the first one.

When it comes to the subject of love, lots of different people have different things that work for them, and in this digital age, I can say that everything has been made easy to the end that you can easily tour the world with your phone, or laptop.
At some point before the era of WhatsApp, Facebook, and all the other social media people used to connect, we had Skype, which I think was exclusive to video calls, and people had to visit a cyber cafe in order to call and chat with their loved ones.
But with the break in technology, WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, and some other applications have made it easier to chat, voice call, and video call loved ones.
Coming back to the topic, personally I think it is possible for people to connect online and get married based on their values and lifestyle by asking the right questions.
I believe that the way and manner a person posts on their social media can give you a glimpse of what their values are. For example, if you see someone who likes to post themselves at parties and having fun all the time, you can easily tell the kind of people that they will attract.
And if you see a person who is always posting about their business, personal development, and growth, you can also tell the kind of people that will attract.
But there's another side to it, and someone might ask, What of the people who don't post on social media? Well, for those kinds of people, the possibility of dating online is slim because if your presence isn't felt, then your absence will not be noticed.
In the digital age we find ourselves in, a lot of people have leveraged the social media space to keep their relationship when they can't be together, but this has to be with each other's consent.
Personally, I have seen people who meet on Facebook and are happily married, and I think it all boils down to the fact that they had the right kinds of conversation and knew what they wanted, so when it comes to dating online, knowing what you want is very kind, and I think the Internet has helped a lot of people to make dating easier. This is not in any way to discard physically dating because a person can be someone else online and an entirely different person on-site, but in the end, we always have our choices and options, so choose wisely.
