Everyone at some point in time needs a break to revitalize and regain used-up energy physically, mentally, and otherwise.
The way the workflow system of many organizations is designed is to the extent that members of staff can take breaks once in a while after a long period of work but often for a short while.
But sometimes it becomes very necessary for one to take a break away from all the noise to a place of solitude where some deep questions can be asked, questions like What is my purpose?, and What am I here for? And so on.
Someone once said when a man fails, he hurts himself, but if he remains a failure, he hurts his generations unborn.
I said that to say that sometimes in order to find true purpose and fulfillment in life, you totally need to shut yourself away from the noise of the world and go into hiding to find the true meaning of your existence so that you will not hurt your unborn generations.
Disclaimer: That is not to say that a person cannot become successful in life without having to shut down. People are different, but you will also find that every great man and woman that has walked the surface of the earth at one point in time had a time when no one knew them, more like the wilderness experience.
Taking a break can be a lot, especially a long one at that, and people's reasons might differ from one to another, but anyone who is going to shut down for such a long period of time must put enough resources in place to sustain even after the period is over.
Because sometimes even when you finish your journey, it might still take a little longer to recuperate and get fully back on your feet.
A shutdown may be necessary when an individual becomes uncertain about their life's direction and needs answers on the right path.
Furthermore, a person might just decide to take a new career path and might need time to take a course and develop themselfin the role of their new career path. However, if it becomes necessary to take a long break, you must make sure to utilize every opportunity to make sure that when you are back, you won't be new to the system you left.
In a world where people are paid not just for the job they can do but the value they can offer, if you have to shut down for a while in order to become so valuable, then shut down you must.
We see that even in nature through the eagle, a very unique creature: when they become tired and feel weak and their beak and claws no longer do their job effectively, the eagle takes itselfto the highest mountain, plucks out all its old feathers, scrapes its beak against a sharp stone, and does the same to its claws.
Then it stays there for new features to come and new beak and claws to grow, and the eagle becomes brand new in the same vein. At some point a man needs to shut down to unlearn some things and relearn new ones.
It's only a man without purpose that will take a break and not be intentional about their life's goals and purpose, but a man with purpose, even though they shut down for a whole year, will come back more valuable than they were before they shut down, so if you must, take a break; they become better for it.
Thank you for stopping by.
