Over the years, I have learned that you should be a calmer, more patient person and that you are very smart in order to know how to deal with unusual situations that may arise in your life. Especially when these problems cause certain unnecessary arguments. I believe that life teaches us to be like this, but it obviously depends on whether you really want to follow this path. Since I was little, I have always tried to get out of troubles that would probably end in something bad.
In addition, arguing with someone, even if they are someone close to you or even a stranger, can cause serious problems. Make no mistake, I have argued a few times and tried to defend what I believed was right, but even if you know that your side is the right one, nowadays we must know the exact moment to prevent the argument from reaching a more violent level.
People Are Increasingly Lack of Empathy
In today's world, people are dying for futile reason. All because of an occasional unnecessary argument and when someone who is "hot-blooded" or even has nothing to lose, ends up turning the argument into a fight or even murder. Traffic fights are becoming more and more common and what you can see is that people are more stressed and have less empathy for their neighbors.
Recently, I witnessed an argument between two strangers near the supermarket where I was in the car waiting for my wife to come out with the groceries. It all started because one of them parked his car the wrong way and the other wanted to park his car correctly. When they both got out of the cars, the argument started and from what I understood, the one who was "wrong" was his wife with him and the curious thing is that his wife was constantly apologizing and walking into the supermarket.
Apparently, the wife, already fearing the worst, was constantly ordering her husband to stop talking and there were some funny moments, because she was talking to a dog (LOL). But she must have realized that her husband had acted wrongly and she was the one trying to calm things down, because he didn't apologize, but his wife did, and then the two of them went into the supermarket. The man who was right in the argument stayed outside and I didn't stay to find out the end of the story, because my wife arrived and I decided to go home.
You must have noticed that I was just observing and, to be quite honest, I wasn't going to get involved, because lately, those who get involved in certain arguments, especially with couples, end up in very bad shape. What we see most often are people getting involved in defending their wives from others and end up leaving the fight without a hand or, even worse, losing their lives. In the end, the wife who was fighting with her husband can even go back and act as if nothing had happened, and the person who decided to get involved in third-party fights ends up losing their life for nothing.
Getting Involved in Arguments Can Cost Your Life
Another situation that happened close to me was at the bus station. My two children and I were outside while my wife was traveling with my baby. The bus took a while to leave because some relatives of a passenger were arguing with the employees of the bus company. I don't remember exactly what it was, maybe it was something about the luggage. But there was a moment when I decided to stay away for the sake of my children. Especially because if the argument turned into a fight, my children could get hurt due to the distance.
I've been in fights, I know that when someone's blood is hot and their adrenaline is pumping, they don't think very rationally and depending on the emotion they're feeling, they end up hurting anyone around them. So, to prevent my children from witnessing anything other than the heated argument between those people, I took them away from that place and, since the bus's departure depended on the end of that confusion, I waited a little further away and only after a while was I able to say goodbye to my wife and daughter.
Nowadays, I try to show my children that when one doesn't want to, two don't fight. I try to teach my youngest son not to be bothered by what people might say about him, especially things he doesn't like to hear. Even with his older brother, they sometimes argue over nonsense, but I know that these are sibling arguments, but since my youngest son doesn't have much patience, he ends up getting irritated easily and I will have to teach him to be more patient and know how to avoid unnecessary arguments.
Life is a big school where we learn a lot about good and bad things. Arguing is something that can sometimes be unavoidable, but we must know the exact moment to stop. Fortunately, after many years of living together, my wife and I have reached a point where we don't argue as much as we used to. In the past, it was terrible, but today I can deal with it better, and when she's having a bad day, I can see it and try to show her that it's not something to worry about so much and that there are other things worth worrying about.
So I'm not the type of person today who would get involved in a silly argument, especially when it's about strangers. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't risk my life to defend someone when I don't know if the other person is armed. The laws here in Brazil don't protect fair and honest people very well, unfortunately... Even for self-defense, even if you're right, you could be considered a criminal. Maybe the issue isn't even about lack of empathy, but rather about worrying about my children's future, because I don't know what they would be like without me, learning how to survive in this jungle called life.

Ao longo dos anos, aprendi que você deve ser uma pessoa mais calma, paciente e que seja bem esperta para saber lidar com situações inusitadas que podem surgir na sua vida. Principalmente quando esses problemas causam certas discussões desnecessárias. Acredito que a vida nos ensina a ser assim, mas é óbvio que vai depender se de fato você vai querer esse caminho. Desde pequeno, sempre busquei sair de confusões que provavelmente terminariam em alguma coisa ruim.
Além disso, discutir com alguém mesmo que seja uma pessoa próxima a você ou mesmo desconhecida, pode trazer algum problema sério. Não se engane, eu já discuti algumas vezes e tentei defender aquilo que eu acreditava que seria o certo, mas mesmo que você sabe que o seu lado é o correto, hoje em dia devemos saber o momento exato de evitar que a discussão possa chegar a um nível mais violento.
As Pessoas Estão Cada Vez Mais Sem Empatia
No mundo de hoje, as pessoas estão morrendo por motivo fútil. Tudo por conta de uma eventual discussão sem necessidade e quando alguém que está com "sangue quente" ou mesmo não tem nada a perder, acaba levando a discussão numa briga ou até mesmo num assassinato. Brigas de trânsito estão cada vez mais comuns e o que dá pra perceber é que as pessoas estão mais estressadas e com menos empatia para com o seu próximo.
Recentemente, presenciei uma discussão entre dois desconhecidos próximo ao supermercado onde eu estava dentro do carro aguardando minha esposa sair com as compras. Tudo começou porque um deles colocou o seu carro de forma errada e o outro queria estacionar o seu carro de forma correta. Quando os dois saíram dos carros, começou a discussão e pelo que eu entendi, o que estava "errado", sua esposa o acompanhava e o curioso é que a esposa dele estava a todo tempo pedindo desculpas e caminhando para dentro do supermercado.
Aparentemente a esposa já temendo o pior, estava a todo tempo dando ordens para o seu marido parar de falar e teve alguns momentos até engraçados, pois parceria que ela estava falando com um cachorro (LOL). Mas ela deve ter percebido que o seu marido agiu errado e ela que estava tentando acalmar as coisas, pois ele não pediu desculpas, mas sim sua mulher e então os dois entraram no supermercado. O homem que estava certo na discussão ficou do lado de fora e eu não fiquei para saber o final dessa história, pois minha esposa chegou e resolvi ir para minha casa.
Você deve ter percebido que eu apenas observei e sendo bem sincero, não iria me envolver, pois ultimamente quem se envolve em certas discussões principalmente com casais, acabam se dando muito mal. O que mais a gente ver por aí são pessoas se envolvendo em defender a esposa dos outros e acabam saindo da briga sem uma mão ou até pior, perdendo sua vida. No final a esposa que estava brigando com o marido podem até voltar e fazer com o que nada tivesse acontecido e a pessoa que resolveu se envolvem brigas de terceiros, acaba perdendo sua vida por nada.
Se Envolver em Discussões Pode Custar Sua Vida
Outra situação que aconteceu próximo a mim foi na rodoviária. Estava eu e meus dois filhos do lado de fora enquanto minha esposa iria viajar com minha bebê. O ônibus demorou para sair porque tinha alguns familiares de um passageiro discutindo com alos funcionários da empresa do ônibus. Não me lembro bem o que era exatamente, talvez tenha sido algo sobre as bagagens. Mas teve um momento em que resolvi me afastar mais por causa dos meus filhos. Até porque se a discussão virasse uma briga, meus filhos poderiam se machucar por conta da dieta distância.
Eu já briguei, sei que quando a pessoa está com o sangue quente e a adrenalina a mil, não pensa muito racionalmente e dependendo da emoção que a pessoa se encontra, acaba machucando qualquer pessoa ao seu redor. Então para evitar que meus filhos presenciasse algo além da acalorada discussão entre aquelas pessoas, retirei eles daquele local e como a saída do ônibus dependia do término daquela confusão, aguardei um pouco mais longe e só depois de um tempo pude despedir da minha esposa e filha.
Hoje em dia tento mostrar aos meus filhos que quando um não quer, dois não brigam. Meu filho mais novo eu tento instruir ele para que não se incomode com o que as pessoas possam falar dele, principalmente coisas que ele não gosta de ouvir. Até mesmo com o seu irmão mais velho, eles discutem às vezes por causa de besteira, mas sei que são discussões de irmãos, mas como meu filho mais novo não tem tanta paciência, ele acaba se irritando facilmente e isso eu terei que ensinar ele a ter mais paciência e saber evitar discussão desnecessária.
A vida é uma grande escola onde aprendemos muito sobre coisas boas e ruins. Discutir é algo que às vezes pode ser inevitável, mas devemos saber o momento exato para parar. Felizmente após muitos anos de convivência, eu e minha esposa chegamos num ponto que não discutimos tanto como antigamente. No passado era algo terrível, mas hoje eu consigo contornar melhor e quando ela está naquele dia ruim, eu já percebo e tento mostrar para ela que aquilo não é algo para se importar tanto e que existem outras coisas que valem a pena se preocupar.
Portanto não sou do tipo hoje que seria alguém em me envolver numa discussão tola, principalmente quando é sobre pessoas desconhecidas, sinto muito, mas eu não arriscaria minha vida para defender alguém quando não sei se a outra pessoa está armada. As leis aqui no Brasil não defendem muito bem pessoas justas e honestas infelizmente... Até para legítima defesa mesmo que você está certo, é capaz de você ser enquadrado como criminoso. Talvez a questão nem seja por falta de empatia, mas sim em me preocupar com o futuro dos meus filhos, pois não sei como seria eles sem mim para aprenderem a sobreviver nessa selva chamada vida.
