Public policies always seek to resolve issues ranging from basic to more complex for its people. Basic services such as health, education and security are just some of the many ways in which the government must meet the needs of a citizen. But apart from the theoretical part, this does not always actually happen.
Many friends know my position on the State, because for me, the less the government gets involved in our lives, the better. Despite this, I know that some state programs aim to help the neediest families, but in practice, abuse occurs by people who take advantage of loopholes to also be included even though they do not need to receive the aid.
Consequently, families are growing and bringing more expenses to the State, because we are the ones who pay more and more taxes to support these government programs. So what was supposed to be a "temporary solution" ends up becoming a political ploy to make more and more people hostage to the State and make these people their loyal voters when a new election comes around.
Despite this, if the government decided to limit the number of children as a response to the population problem, I would still be totally against it. I am in favor of our freedom of choice. I know that there are countries that already have billions of people and there is a certain type of control there, as is the case in China, but I do not believe that this would be the government's best alternative.
If we think long-term, what would retirement plans for the elderly look like? Looking at the current scenario, many young people don't want to work. I remember that in the past, long before I was born, many families had between 7 and 10 children. Of course, at the time, most of the work was in the fields and this sustained the country's economy for a long time, but today it is even worrying because we hardly see a couple having two children or even more.
I have three children and have always dreamed of having a big family. But I couldn't live in a place where there were laws that limited the number of children we could have. We need to have a certain kind of balance where it doesn't get in the way of those who want to have children and also government programs that help needy families, but without making them slaves to the state. If they were encouraged to grow and improve their lives, it would be something completely different and important.
Therefore, I am not in favor of the government creating mechanisms or programs that limit the number of children a couple could have. We must have our freedom to choose what is best for us. The State has its role in offering services that contribute to our lives, but not directly influencing the choices we make about our children. There must be something that cannot harm our decisions, because who besides us knows what is best for our lives and our future?

As Políticas públicas procuram sempre resolver desde questões básicas até questões mais complexas para o seu povo. Serviços básicos como saúde, educação e segurança são apenas algumas de várias formas de que o governo precisa atender as necessidades de que um cidadão precisa. Mas tirando a parte teórica, nem sempre isso acontece de fato.
Muitos amigos sabem meu posicionamento sobre o Estado, pois para mim, quanto menos o governo se envolve em nossas vidas, melhor. Apesar disso, sei que alguns programas estatais tem o objetivo de ajudar as famílias mais carentes, mas na prática acontece um abuso por parte de pessoas que se aproveitam de brechas para também serem incluídas mesmo não precisando ter o direito de receber o auxílio.
Consequentemente, cada vez mais as famílias vão crescendo e trazendo mais despesas para o Estado, pois somos nós que pagamos cada vez mais impostos para sustentar esses programas do governo. Então o que era para ser uma "solução temporária", acaba virando uma jogada política para que mais e mais pessoas sejam refém do Estado e fazendo com que essas pessoas sejam seus eleitores fiéis para quando uma nova eleição surgir.
Apesar disso, caso o governo resolvesse limitar a quantidade de filhos como resposta ao problema populacional, mesmo assim eu seria totalmente contra. Sou a favor de nossa liberdade de escolha. Sei que existem países que já possuem bilhões de pessoas e lá tem um certo tipo de controle como é o caso na China, mas não acredito que isso seria a melhor alternativa do governo.
Se pensarmos a longo prazo, como seria a previdência dos idosos? Analisando no cenário atual, muitos jovens não querem trabalhar. Lembro que antigamente, muito antes de eu nascer, muitas famílias tinham entre 7 a 10 filhos. É lógico que na época, a maior parte do trabalho era no campo e isso fez sustentar por muito tempo a economia do país, mas hoje é até preocupante porque mal vemos um casal ter dois filhos ou até mais.
Eu tenho três filhos e sempre sonhei em ter uma grande família. Mas não conseguiria viver em um lugar onde existissem leis que limitasse a quantidade de filhos que deveríamos ter. Precisamos ter um certo tipo de equilíbrio onde não atrapalhasse quem quisesse ter seus filhos e também programas do governo que ajudassem famílias carentes, mas sem fazer com que elas sejam escravas estatais. Se incentivadas a crescer e melhorar de vida, seria algo completamente diferente e importante.
Portanto, não sou a favor de que o governo criasse mecanismos ou programas que limitassem a quantidade de filhos que um casal poderia ter. Temos que ter nossa liberdade de escolher o que é melhor para nós. O Estado tem o seu papel de oferecer serviços que contribuem com a nossa vida, mas não que influenciasse diretamente na escolha de nossos filhos. Deve-se haver algo que não possa prejudicar nossas decisões, pois quem além de nós sabe o que é melhor para nossa vida e nosso futuro?
