Hello friends, how are you?
If you are like me, who usually cleans the house, washes the dishes, bathes and drives the car listening to good music, you are certainly a happy person. Following this reasoning, most or even all of the music you hear are songs from decades ago, right? Have you ever stopped to think about this and, if not, I leave this reflection to you, dear reader.
I don't currently have much knowledge about other countries, but here in Brazil, the intellectual and emotional level that is part of the compositions seems to have stopped in time. I remember very well how important the lyrics were in songs, as they conveyed so much emotion that they made people laugh with happiness and even cry.
Music: A Feeling, Culture and History
Music is timeless, no matter how much time passes, it will always be worth listening to that song that you haven't heard for a long time and so, you can appreciate the message that the lyrics convey along with the striking melody . Today, unfortunately, it is so far rare to find this same “energy” around.
How many times have those lyrics from that song managed to transport you back in time? Can we have this same sensitivity today? Well, this may vary according to musical taste. It's true that everyone has their own identity in music, even if it's a very small thing, but this current generation has no idea of the wealth we had in the 80s and 90s.
Music Is Present in My Life
There are several songs that I can say are the soundtrack of my life. Since I was little, I participated in the choir and it was from that time on that I began to have more contact with classical music. Over the years that I grew up, I got to know Rock and its different aspects. It was then that I had my first contact with the bands The Offspring, Red Hot Chili Peppers, CPM 22, Charlie Brown Jr, Iron Maiden and many others.
When I was a teenager, I was in a band that performed at church events and on stage. It was really cool and as I was the singer, I liked selecting songs that had striking lyrics that made us get emotional and enjoy the sound at the same time. Time passed, the band disbanded and each person moved on to their adult lives. But I never stopped listening to my favorite songs.
The Empty Music Industry and the Sold Market
In Brazil currently, the most listened to and sold musical style on any platform is Funk. I grew up knowing this style, but I never identified with it. The funniest thing is that the Funk of the past would be much better than the current one. The quality of the lyrics in Funk songs are literally sexualized, there is no other definition about it. We can say that the Music Industry is to blame for this, as we know that money has a great influence on people.
I once heard an "MC" say he wrote a song in just 1 hour. Can you imagine the rubbish lyrics that an artist like that must have created? Their rush to sell something to be successful, without proper preparation, ends up bringing less and less quality for people to hear and the Industry knows this and doesn't care, it's just following a trend that, in my opinion, has already been on the market for a long time.
My children don't like listening to funk, because in my house that's not something that's played here. In fact, my 9-year-old son is determined to learn to play the guitar and I'm teaching him. The songs I present to him are old songs. It's cool to see that you can teach something good and of quality to your children.
I believe that better preparation for these artists could enhance their musical performance. But I think it's very difficult for this to happen, because while the current form is generating a lot of money and influence, changing becomes practically impossible. So what we have left is to continue our lives listening to our quality sounds without caring about the empty songs that are at the top of the charts.

Se você é assim, como eu, que costuma limpar a casa, lavar a louça, banhar e dirigir o carro ouvindo uma boa música, certamente você é uma pessoa feliz. Seguindo ainda neste raciocínio, a maioria das músicas que você ouve ou até todas são canções de décadas atrás, certo? Você já parou para pensar sobre isso e, caso contrário, deixo essa reflexão para você, querido leitor.
Não tenho muito conhecimento atualmente sobre outros países, mas aqui no Brasil, o nível intelectual e emocional que fazem parte das composições, parece que parou no tempo. Lembro muito bem de como as letras eram importantes nas músicas, pois transmitiam tanta emoção que faziam as pessoas rirem de felicidade e até chorarem.
Música: Um Sentimento, Cultura e História
A música é atemporal, não importa o tempo que passe, sempre vai valer muito a pena ouvir aquela canção que fazia um bom tempo que você não escutava e assim, consegue apreciar sua mensagem que a letra transmite junto com a melodia marcante. Hoje infelizmente isso é até agora raro encontrar por aí essa mesma "energia".
Quantas vezes aquela letra daquela canção conseguiu fazer você se transportar no tempo? Será que hoje podemos ter essa mesma sensibilidade? Bem, isso deve variar de acordo com o gosto musical. É verdade que cada um tem sua identidade na música, por mais que seja algo bem pouco, mas essa geração atual não faz ideia da riqueza que tínhamos nas décadas de 80 e 90.
A Música Está Presente na Minha Vida
Existem diversas canções que eu posso dizer que são a trilha sonora da minha vida. Desde pequeno, participei no coral e foi a partir daquele tempo que comecei a ter mais contato com a música clássica. Ao longo dos anos em que fui crescendo, conheci o Rock e suas diversas vertentes. Foi então que tive meu primeiro contato com as bandas The Offspring, Red Hot Chili Peppers, CPM 22, Charlie Brown Jr, Iron Maiden e entre muitas outras.
Na minha adolescência, participava de uma banda que fez algumas apresentações em eventos na igreja e também em palcos. Era bem legal e como eu era o cantor, gostava de selecionar canções que tinham letras marcantes que faziam a gente se emocionar e curtir o som ao mesmo tempo. O tempo passou, a banda se desfez e cada um seguiu sua vida adulta. Mas nunca deixei de ouvir minhas músicas prediletas.
A Indústria da Música Vazia e o Mercado Vendido
No Brasil atualmente, o estilo musical mais ouvido e vendido para qualquer plataforma é o Funk. Cresci sabendo desse estilo, mas nunca me identifiquei com isso. O mais engraçado é que o Funk de antigamente seria muito melhor do que o atual. A qualidade das letras nas músicas no Funk são literalmente sexualizadas, não tem outra definição sobre. Podemos dizer que a Indústria da Música tem culpa nisso, pois sabemos que o dinheiro tem grande influência nas pessoas.
Uma vez, ouvi um "MC" dizer que escreveu uma música em apenas 1 hora. Você consegue imaginar o lixo de letra que um artista desse deve ter criado? Sua pressa em vender algo para fazer sucesso, sem uma devida preparação, acabam trazendo cada vez menos qualidade para as pessoas ouvirem e a Indústria sabe disso e não tá nem aí, apenas está seguindo uma tendência que na minha opinião, já está no mercado há muito tempo.
Meus filhos não gostam de ouvir funk, até porque em minha casa isso não é algo que toca aqui. Inclusive, meu filho de 9 anos está determinado a aprender a tocar violão e estou ensinando ele. As músicas que apresento a ele são músicas antigas. É legal você ver que consegue ensinar algo bom e de qualidade para os seus filhos.
Acredito que uma preparação melhor para esses artistas, poderiam potencializar o seu desempenho musical. Mas acho que é bem difícil isso acontecer, pois enquanto a forma atual está rendendo bastante dinheiro e influência, mudar se torna algo praticamente impossível. Então o que nos resta é seguir nossas vidas ouvindo nossos sons de qualidade sem se importar com as músicas vazias que estão no topo das paradas.
