A while ago, I had some free time to explore PeakD's new AI image generation feature and test five different models using the same prompt. It was a fun experience, and I generated some results that I’m excited to share with you in today’s post.
This new tool, released just two days ago, is a service I would describe as the first of its kind on Hive. While AI image generator apps and services have been around for a few years, I believe PeakD is the first frontend to implement a service that accepts $HBD as payment. What excites me most about this aspect of PeakD AI is that it gives HBD a practical utility within the platform, eliminating the need for a third-party payment system for us (Hive users) to access this new AI service. How cool is that!
Since I’m the type of Hive user who likes to test apps or tools that catch my attention, I decided to give this PeakD AI image generator a try.
Although I’m not very knowledgeable about AI image generators, I have previously tested a few apps, including DALL-E and Starry AI. These free AI apps were somewhat useful, but I never fully utilized them. The older version of DALL-E I tried produced artwork that looked strange and didn’t resonate with me. On the other hand, I used Starry AI quite a bit, but I didn’t fully appreciate it because the results from the free version often didn’t meet my expectations.
Based on my experience with DALL-E and Starry AI, I’m now curious to see if PeakD AI can deliver results that I’ll genuinely like—especially since I’m paying for it with real money! And yes, HBD is real money! :D
I spent a total of 0.375 HBD to generate five unique images using different models, which raises the question: is it worth it? Let’s find out by taking a look at the results I got!
First of all, the main theme of my prompt is "A Chimera Woman!"
Recraft V3
I started with the first model on the list, as it was the most convenient option. :P This model cost me 0.055 HBD, and here’s the result!
Ideogram V2
This model costs me 0.09 HBD to generate this result. It's not that cheap compared to Recraft V3.
3D Animation Style (Leonardo)
This is the most expensive at 0.10 HBD which gave me disappointing results. Although it gave me 3 images and none of these has met my expectations, lol.
FLUX 101 Pro (BFL)
This one only costs 0.055 HBD which gave me a stunning result.
SD 3.5 Lg (Stability)
Finally, here’s the last model I tried, which cost me 0.075 HBD. It’s not as accurate as the other models, though the quality is acceptable to me. However, it’s more expensive compared to other models that already met my preferences.
My Verdict!
Among the AI models I tried today, I focused on two factors: quality and cost. Based on the results, it’s clear that Recraft V3 and FLUX 101 Pro (BFL) are my favorites. If I had to choose based on the art style, Recraft V3 stands out to me because of its painterly effect, which I really enjoy.
In conclusion, exploring PeakD’s AI image generator has been an exciting and insightful experience. The variety of models and the ability to use HBD for payment make this tool both unique and accessible within the Hive ecosystem. I’m looking forward to experimenting further and seeing how this technology evolves to inspire even more creativity.
