Hello and welcome to my page. I'm @daniky and here is my entry to the weekly featured content for week 9 edition 2. This post is in response to the question asked, stating that;
"For some people, the first time they fell in love was when they were no more than basically kids or at most teenagers and they did not know much about how love worked at the time. So, tell us about all your first love and how it went. Did it last? Did it progress into a relationship? Tell us, we would love to know!"
This topic is a lovely one that reflects back those wonderful memories, though might look childish as well. This was as far back as 17years ago.
It was a moment i was getting set for my west African examination as i was in my final year during my high school days, i met a beautiful looking damsel whose name was Naomi. She was so gentle, having a lovely smile. Coincidentally i later got to know she was of the same age with me and was down to earth.
HOW I MET NAOMI
On a fateful day while i had the chance to meet her and her friends together asking themselves examination past questions and answering it, i decided to join them to gain more knowledge to help prepare for our forthcoming examination. During that adventurous moment i noticed the presence of a beautiful lady that looks so calm and wasn't talking as much as other ladies. The moment i set my eyes on her i wasn't myself anymore as i felt as if i was swept off my foot. That very day i never wasted anytime, i asked her to give me some few minutes that i wanted to see her privately in our proposed examination hall which was the venue for our West African Examination. That moment we were yet to start our first paper as the examination was to commence a week time prior to when we met.
So while i was with her at the examination hall, i poured out my feeling to her, telling her how much i love her. My heart was totally connected to hers and i was quite fortunate she yielded by saying she love me too and that was the genesis of my first relationship with Naomi. Before that moment, I've never been in love with anyone till i met her. I could no longer concentrate fully on my studies because whenever i take a book to read, it's more like her beautiful face was reflecting in the book out of fantasy. Where she resided was about 15km to where i am, and i wasn't having a car by then i should kept driving to visit her at home everyday not minding the stress of fuel expense.
Naomi's love intoxicated me to a point that i always use my lunch money to buy recharge card just to get connected to her online. We make calls both day and night time and by then, mobile smartphones newly came to my country, Nigeria. So i could hardly do a day without hearing her voice because I'd rather die than not hearing her speak to me a day. That was when i realised what the true meaning of "Love" was. Some of my female friends were doing all it takes to have my attention but i never gave them an inch of attention. Some of my male friends started calling me "Lover boy". I was even advised by some of my friends to forget about Naomi but i let them realised that my life depends on her and besides, she's the apple of my eyes.
I never do a day without dreaming of Naomi. My Dad had a miga farmland around area 8 at garki in Abuja and we had to leave our resident at wuse zone 6 to area to farm every saturday which was a very tough moment for me as i won't be seeing Naomi at the weekends. I was more like confined within our compound and no't allowed to play with neighboring friends but rather care for my siblings and study diligently in preparation for my forthcoming examination. I wished i could had my freedom as i was at the last phase of my tenage age. Little did i know that love at most time could be a fantasy.
At the commencement of our examination at school, Naomi became so sick and couldn't write one of her papers. When it was maths time, she wasn't strong enough so i had to put my mathematics and reputation at risk to help her write her mathematics. So luckily i could help her without the invigilator getting to know as it was a great risk to assist a candidate (your colleague) during the course of an examination as that is counted as examination malpractice and impersonation which is a highly punishable offense with a 5year jail term for anyone caught in such an act. As luck would have his way, Naomi credited her mathematics while i passed mine. As a result i wasn't able to fulfill the requirement of making a credit in my mathematics for admission to the University. So Naomi got admission to the university while i was left at home patiently waiting for my Neco result too which took a longer moment before it release.
When Naomi got admission to the university, i was happy for her one sided and not happy with myself the other way. I hoped for my Neco result to come out but it was taking longer time than usual. Fortunately for me, i got a news that Neco result was out and that was how i was able ro check my result and noticed i made my result on a sitting. It became a thing of joy for me and my family. I had to wait extra years before making up for further examinations to the university while Naomi was already far ahead and graduated before i got admitted to the University. All these happened for the sake of my geniuine love for Naomi.
Today Naomi is doing great with her husband (not me), she has a good job and successful. No one who knew me and her those could haardly believe we didn't end up being together. Such is Life, indeed, Love is a mystery and I'll really glad to say i had a beautiful and challenging first love experience. To be candid, you may hardly believe but the truth is that we never had any sexual intimacy for years even after our high school days till now. This was indeed, a genuine love sustained at first sight till it was over. Lost of contact did the major damage for a very longtime. So the relationship lasted for 5years before we lost contact of each other.
